Rookies...chase him and scream on the radio about their foot chase.
    Veterans...wave and drive on.

Lol, that's so true! I can think of some folks who were always screaming on the radio about foot/vehicle pursuits. You hurry your butt to get there, and it's nothing. It's "Oh, he didn't stop right when I turned on the lights."

I would make a remark about you taking his property, but I do not want to get in trouble for cop bashing.

So, for some reason the police gave chase. The first cop throws a flying tackle and the kid goes down hard. His neck is broken in the fall. (look at the video of the cops carrying him to the paddy wagon, his head lolls and his legs drag) The coppers go "Oh :poop:, what the heck do we do now.

I'm not keeping it, I'm logging it into property as contraband.

    Riiiighhhhtttt.

Nah, not my thing. Now there was this one time, where we arrested an guy as he came out of Wendy's, and he was really pissed (he was a real scumbag). I had his food in my hand, and asked him if he wanted me to throw it away. He said "@$%# you, you eat it." So I pulled out a burger ate it, right in front of him. That REALLY pissed him off.

Was it? What was the reason for detaining him in the first place? ...noting that the knife wasn't discovered until after Gray was apprehended.

The police were conducting heightened patrol and enforcement in that specific area (irony alert: at the behest of Carolyn Mosby and her Chief of Police), because it was known as an area for drug dealing. Freddie Gray was a known participant in the specific activities targeted for heightened enforcement.

He ran when the police approached him. Under those circumstances, the police clearly had RAS to conduct an investigatory detention - which is why they pursued and detained him. Given that his rap sheet included multiple assaults, I don't find much fault in them believing him to be potentially dangerous, thus justifying a weapon search during that lawful detention.

That is a boss move. Wish I could have seen that!

"Males over the age of 18 we're suspicious, and attempted too to stop them." If some officers are doing this obvious sans RS, is fleeing at the sight of seeing a police officer that odd?

Oh. That article reports a crap ton worse **** than that. OMG. They take a dude's keys. Google his address. Break into his house. Crack his safe. Take out $100K of $200K found. Close the safe, then turn the recording on where he says, "now don't touch anything..."

Yeah. Rat dick examples of cops.

I'm shocked that a Honda Odyssey was commonly used by drug dealers.

We've had several over the years.

Great for trucking kids and kids' stuff and more kids all over. But it isn't exactly a "good ride."

Now, if they got the kind with the DVD player....

Indeed, as the one guy testified, it was a bunch of thugs using their badges as a front.

Yeah, there's really bad **** going on in there. I was making note, that Freddy Gray ran after seeing officers. In light of these particular revelations, the whole "if you've done nothing wrong..." doesn't really seem to hold much water in Baltimore.

    Wait.

I'd said I had several drug dealers over the years. Not that we did drugs.

    HUGE difference.

    ;)

    ETA:
Oh yaaa - go back and re-read that post as many times as you need to. ;)

Then nevermind. I thought you said you had several Honda Odyssey minivans. An obvious identifier of drug use and trafficking.
