I've noticed in the last few weeks of shopping at Rural King that guns are a plenty but the ammo supply is drying up. Gun cases are full most days but with no ammo available, what good is a gun. Still some on Armslist who will pay a premium for guns they can't find ammo for. Strange days indeed.

Yep! Talked with my LGS guy yesterday. Still having trouble getting both with no end in sight. He's even been checking GB to try and get more stock and says it's 50% higher than what he would normally pay thru his distributors.

I changed a couple years ago to 80/20 method. 20% of my efforts were on guns and 80% was on Ammo and reloading supplies. I’m actually sitting pretty good right now but that’s subject to change depending how long this Plandemic last.

Luckily I have never been a high volume shooter plus I can reload for any of my centerfire calibers. But even the bullets for reloading are getting harder to find as well as primers I hear.

I'm not in the market for guns but what I have heard is they are tough to get also.

I could always use more 9 mm but I have a few boxes so hopefully I will have enough until the inventories come back.

I do have reloading components so there's always that. Moving forward my focus will be on reloading as I much prefer my rounds to factory rounds.

As far as .22, I have a lifetime supply so I'm most likely out of that market for good...thankfully.

I am starting to see more guns. I saw a Glock in real life for the first time in months at my LGS. I am also seeing more Glock models on GunBroker. Now, if only the price will come down a bit.

    I have plenty of guns.
What I am loading up on, and what I can't find enough of, is ammo.
I do reload, so that takes some burden off the "ammo shortage", but, reloading supplies are drying up also.
I currently have 700 to 1000 rounds, each, of 7 different rifle calibers, and 3500 rounds of 9mm, both fmj and jhp.
I know some will say that I have plenty, but, if it's ever needed, or if I choose to shoot alot, it will go fast.

I'm content at the moment with both. I've got some "Gun fund" money from a few random things I've sold if I find a good deal. I suppose now would be a good time to sell more, but I like what I have too much to sell it. Maybe I'll sell some the next panic.

Current conditions are making me reluctant to shoot as much as I wish unless I can confidently replace what I shoot. I'm comfortable with what I have but reluctant to draw down supplies

I am finding reloading supplies tightening also. Anybody know if it is solely increased demand or something else like difficulty importing lead?

What I have heard is that demand is high for most components so that is what is causing the shortages for reloading supplies.

I also read that primers are the prime reason ammo is in short supply (along with the demand of course). Ammunition manufacturers can get brass, powder and projectiles but there are not many primer manufacturers and they are tapped out.

I too am reluctant to send a lot of rounds downrange. The irony of this is I have been head deep in a major home reno for the last 5 years and have shot very little. Well I finally finished and want to get out consistently and shoot. But I'm worried about drawing down my supplies also.

So I am doing specific drills when I go to the range, most of them low round count. I'm down to about 100 rounds per session and will probably drop that down to 50 here soon.

This has happened multiple times since you've been a member of INGO. Remember all the people going to multiple Walmarts every day trying to buy the 2-3 box limit of ammo (if they could find any)?

The answer has been stated many times. Stock up when prices are low. Hold back (or even sell some) when prices are high. That way you aren't competing with everyone else and buying for inflated prices.

Being prepared for hard times really does ease your mind- in good times or bad.

B/C of ammo prices, I started keeping track of rounds sent downrange & was shocked to see I was burning over 1000 rounds per week since April when I started keeping records.
I cut that in half for 3 weeks, and last week I couldn't go to the range b/c of work & camping, which helps the stats. :)

52,000 rounds per year could put you in world class shooting if the rounds were sent downrange with a purpose.

Nice work being able to do that!
