      Range time

I haven't slowed down practicing with my .45 pistol at the range, but I have stopped plinking with my .22lr rifle for the time being.

      Weekend away to indy???

A few eating suggestions: The Elbow Room on the corner of Pennsylvania and North has an amazing bison burger, and their other food is good too. Yats on Mass. Ave. is great and inexpensive Cajun/creole food. Pot Belly's, located on the South East quadrant of the Circle has great sub-type...

      Manditory Background Checks

Admittedly, I haven't had the time to read your link yet; but, on the surface of what you posted, I don't think it would hold up, as you generally aren't going to be arrested for failing a background check, in most normal situations.

      Yet another +1

Visited the range today with a friend from out-of-town. She had a great time, and was impressed with the level of service, given how busy the place was.

      Question about the range

Thank you both for the information.

      Question about the range

Hello, I was wondering since the 1500 is in town this weekend, is your range going to be open, or will it be closed? Thanks for any info.

      New Campus Carry Bill!!!

I voted yes, and I have already written to my senators and congressman on this. As an IUPUI student who has to catch the late night bus downtown, while I personally don't feel totally unsafe, I can definitely empathize with any student in a similar situation that does, and can only hope that...

Prices at the 1500! is it worth going?

Honestly, I think it will be an interesting show, and there always seems to be odds and ends worth picking up if you're not in the market for an actual firearm deal, but I live in Indy. That being said, I am positive that I would not make a 2 hour drive just to "marvel at the circus."

      On campus housing?

Your point was well-made, and replied to in kind. Now there may have been an inability to understand the reply, which implies that not everyone takes anonymous internet forum posters at their typed word, and HOPES that their actions will reflect said typed words; but, that is, repectively...

      On campus housing?

actions... words... I believe there is a cliched saying involving those ;) Regardless, my statement of HOPE is still relevant.

      On campus housing?

The thread has been read, and my reading comprehesion is far from needing to be attacked. There is no confusion. While you are correct, I meant to encapsulate civil disobediance in quotes, as it is not technically breaking a government imposed law, I was refering to where he specifically...

      On campus housing?

While I respect your civil disobedience, I do hope that should you be caught, and action taken against you, that you accept the consequences of your actions, and do not waste taxpayer money trying to fight it.

Officers just disarmed me in Subway, lectured and took my DL.

While I believe it is true that you do not have to have your LTCH on you while carrying, I feel like it should come as no surprise that a process like this would follow should you carry without it. It seems that common sense would dictate that if you don't have your LTCH on you, you should...

      Another +1

I was in there today, and the place was quite busy. Despite them not having what I was looking for, I was treated quite friendly by the staff, and was even able to have a few questions answered by Chris. Thanks again!

      LTCH on a College Campus

Well, it is not a crime to carry on a University, (as far as I know, the vague IC is traslated as only applying to K-12 schools and not college campuses); however, many colleges and universities in Indiana will suspend/expell students for it. I know that IUPUI's code states that "weapons" are...

      Kids

I find myself agreeing with some of the above posters, and thinking that the combination of firearm education and inaccessibility would be the route I would take, when/if I have children in my household. The biggest reasoning that I have for agreeing with this is the turbulence that arises from...

      Dick Sporting Goods bycott!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have never purchased any firearm stuff from Dick's, but I do buy snowboarding gear from them from time to time, due to proximity. Alas, even that stuff took a dive in price/brand availability/quality when Galyan's sold out to them, making them an "emergency situation" store for me ever since.
