      How do you store your bedside gun?

      no kids at home for myself also, as my son is away on duty. We keep it under the mattress in a gun pouch, loaded, but not chambered. Made sure to check if the wife can rack my .45, see can do it, so I don't see a problem not having a round in the chamber.....JUST IN CASE I guess

      let me say I have had my Springfield Operator for a few months now, and it is the best 1911 I have ever shot...IMHO shot just about 1000 rounds threw it, and the trigger pull and shot groupings are spot on. shot 10 different brands of ammo (brass, steel, aluminum, re-loads) not one FTF or FTE...
