      LC9 reviews?

I'll throw out a third on the S&B light strike issue that has been mentioned because I'm encountering the same thing (I encounter the issue once every 20-30 or so rounds). I've also grown trusting of Hickok45's reviews. For the $, I really like the pistol, but if I planned to carry it (I...

      WTS: Kimber Pro CDP-II

Comes with the 1 Kimber mag (flush) with which it came, as well as the box. Will need to double-check on the papers. The pistol is completely stock.

WTS: Springfield XDM 9mm 4.5 - black, regular sights - Indianapolis

<bump> an aside... Full range report on the 5.25 to come soon (I went out to MCFG on Tuesday after work...) but my initial impressions are that the 5.25 is a ton of fun. The main difference is the sights. The 5.25 is generally easier to shoot accurately. I'm sure that some of it is due to...

WTS: Springfield XDM 9mm 4.5 - black, regular sights - Indianapolis

$480 I have a 4.5" XDM, black with standard sights. Approx 1,500 rounds Clean, well-cared-for Runs perfectly, never had a failure of any kind (if I had a crappy pistol I'd sell it somewhere else) Has been tested w/ 50 rds Hornady CD, otherwise it has received a steady diet of S&B FMJ...

      Another reason to love Springfield!!

My 5.25 hit the ground today, picking it up tomorrow, paperwork for the mags is ready to get submitted. It's like Christmas in September!

Kahr PM 40 or PM 9 anyone shot both?

I've had both a PM9 and PM40, and I kept the PM9. My reason for keeping the 9 and not the 40 is a pretty simple one: I enjoy running a significant # of rounds through all of my pistols, and the fun runs out of the 40 at the range a lot faster than the 9. 20 rounds, no problem, but 50 got...

Rock Island 1911?? yea or nay?

My first 1911 was a RIA. The only problem that I ever had with it was traceable to a couple Wilson mags (occasional FTE). You obviously can't say that Wilson mags are cheap by any stretch, and they work beautifully in my other 1911, so in the end I decided that it was just a matter of a...

      IWB Holster for Glock 30

I have a Comp-tac MTAC Inside Waistband Holsters - Minotaur Holsters - products new home - Minotaur MTAC Holster that I really like. It doesn't have a thumb break, but the tension is adjustable, and it keeps things extremely secure. It's $85, but the quality is impeccable. Another advantage...

      Granger guns

Good experience there, but agree that Midwest has a much larger selection.

      Glock 30/36 hybrid

The first thing I asked myself was "why". Then I picked up my G30 (SF) in my hand and flashed back to the day that I bought it and thought that I would carry it. One of the reviews on youtube calls it "pocket freight train." More accurately, it's like having a freight train in your pocket. I...

I think I want a SIG- what to watch for?

A used P225 or P226 would be great if you can find one in the price range. I'm sure that you can find a P6 around, and they're fantastic shooters. I also think that the P6 has a ton of character.

Affordable gun for a first time buyer

I'd vote used 9mm Glock. My first was a Glock, and I think that there's something to be said for simplicity. There's no decocker, no traditional safety, etc... so the manual of arms is about as simple as can be. Pulling the trigger does one thing, not pulling the trigger does the opposite...

      Should I send it back?

I bought a Glock through Bud's that had a little gouge near the front site (it was sealed and new - no indication of use). Although I thought it was more than a little funny that I was complaining about a blemish on a Glock, I did give Bud's a call. While they wouldn't take it back directly...

      Saw a man smoke a $500 cigarette

I think we need more gun shops that serve hummus, coconut milk, and tofu, and that offer pilates classes.

Does it make sense to consolidate to a single caliber?

At the end of the day (and assuming we're not in a SHTF environment) I'm not sure that it matters unless your shelf space is at a premium. My storage space tends to reflect what I like to shoot. My bedside gun is a 45, and I'm pretty sure there's a law that everyone needs a 1911, so you need a...

      Kahr mag unloading

I have a DeSantis MagPacker that also prevents the top round from being stripped off. I used to have another mag holster that would occasionally catch and strip the top round; it was partially leather and was tighter-fitting, but I don't remember the brand.

      XDM 5.25 - trigger job

Thanks a ton for the recommendations, that's exactly what I'm looking for. Yeah, my understanding is that frame down, there are no differences between the 5.25 and other XDMs. I'll be sure to report on the gun and any work I end up having done.
