I dropped in a 3.5# ghost connector and honed the trigger assembly, my glock 40 is now a fine machine.

Its equipped with a vortex venom and rides nicely in a kenai chest holster.

    Glock40!

So you are saying Underwood loads at the lightest weight levels for 10mm, which gets it close to the 9mm weight, has MV at the level you quoted? Funny when I look they aren't nearly that close. Or are you comparing 180/200 grain bullets with 124 grain?

Comparing 10mm with 40, not with 9mm. Same bullet weight in each caliber.

I've had a G20C for a lot of years now and I love it... But, if the sig P220 10mms were available back then, I'd have opted for that.

That said, you aren't going to crack a glock frame. And cracked frames happen with stout 10mm.

The Glock 20 is what saved 10mm. That gun was built from the ground up to handle full house 10mm, and it does it superbly.

I suppose it’s the spirit of this thread, but when I went to pick up my new Springfield XDm 10mm today, those jerks at the gun store had me check out right in front of another 10mm pistol!

Since “which one?” is such a tough question, I decided it was a sign from above that I shouldn’t have to choose.

Most hunting guides in Alaska carry the glock 20. That should be reason enough!

I was reading about that. A lot of them switch to the 10mm because they can get more shots on target than they can with a larger caliber. Most replace the stock barrel and run 220gr WFNGC bullets is what I've seen.

I have a Ruger SR 1911 in 10mm. Shot it ALOT. never a failure of any kind and its very accurate
It is by far my favorite pistol in my collection. That said my EDC is a Kimber micro 9 lol. And did I mention I only paid $699 for that 10mm. I think its the best value 1911 in 10mm out there

Well played, Sir. Well played. My Banshee is one of my favorites. I've yet to get it on a chronograph, but anxious to see what the 8" barrel does for velocities.

I definitely can't wait to shoot it. Does 30+1 rounds of 10mm out of an 8" barrel settle the "which one?" discussion? (just kidding everyone, I know discussions like this are never settled and I'm definitely not hating on anyone's favorite!)

From all my research before I jumped into 10mm, the Glock is the way to go for most purposes besides precision target shooting. I absolutely hate the Glock grip angle, and the large frame versions (.45/10mm) feel like gripping a 2X4. So I went the Polymer80 route! Comfortable grip angle and the large frame model feels just a wee bit larger than the small frame model. Very comfortable to hold.

Built mine up as a Model 40 with an extended threaded bbl so I could mount a compensator. Top end is essentially all Lone Wolf parts, mounted a Vortex Venom to it for sighting. I plan on some rather warm handloads, so the extra bbl length should get me some good results with slower powders. Factory 15 rd mags are only $20 each, and of course I had to grab one of those long "happy sticks" for about the same price. Surprisingly, the extended mag runs just as good as the OEM ones.

Future plans call for a second slide setup in model 20 length for when I don't need to pistol whip someone from across the room.

I have numerous bbls up to 16” and a few years ago I posted my chrony results for several of my loads in various bbl lengths. A search would turn it up.
I looked it up a little bit ago and enjoyed the read!
I’m assuming that the 8” barrel on the Banshee would come in just under the 9” that you tested, but it looks like you load your own ammo, whereas mine mine is all factory loads, so they vary a bit by brand. I have a few different brands that I hope to try out this weekend with my new toys! Haha
