There will be additional information forthcoming describing what types of ammo the vendors will require for their firearms. This will include information about caliber, factory/reload, brass/steel case, etc.

We'll get this information out to the class with time for them to gather what they need for the firearms they plan to shoot.

The Indy1500 is coming up the last weekend in August. It's one of many sources for supplies.

For now, start saving your lunch money for ammo! :ar15:

    Suuuweeet!

What are the distances that people will be able to shoot out to? I know that LMW has threads and threads about the range but I am a little lazy right now.

Also will there be a price list put out ahead of time, from the vendors selling ammo the day of, if people were to choose to buy some the day of?

There will be three lanes for shooting on NFA day. The distances are about 45-50 feet. This is fairly short, but then most people are experiencing the feel and sound of the NFA hardware, not really trying to hit accurately.

I don't know at this time if the schedule would permit it, but if we wanted to move to the top of the dam, then some of the rifles could be demonstrated at 200 yards onto steel. This would require us shutting down the pistol range and walking up the side of the dam. Not a big deal, but would take some time to do with 25+ people. (The organizers are very safety conscious.)

So basicly only submachine guns will be a available for demonstation? I was so hoping that full size rifle caliber machinegun would be there. Oh well full auto is full auto, and the way my luck is running I won't be drawn anyway. Hope I don't sound too negative but it's just been nothng but bad luck fo me the last few weeks. :xmad:

Two of the three guns in the OP are full size rifle machine guns. :dunno:

It will be about 1/2 and 1/2 if consistant with prior years.

    Hi pinshooter!

Thanks for the question. It allows me to clarify my previous note so you and others reading this aren't confused.

We will be using full rifle calibers at the pistol range. We'll be firing into the dam as our backstop. With dirt, it doesn't matter that we're only 50' away. (I've even shot a few 50 BMG rounds into it!) Obvioiusly at that close range, we couldn't use steel targets and rifle calibers.

When I mentioned the option of shooting across the pond, it was only if people wanted to experience longer range shooting and with steel. I haven't spoken to the other event organizers so I don't know if there is even time to do this.

Sorry for any confusion this may have caused.
