I have always preferred 22LR over other rifle calibers, I have 34 of them and I recently added my first official “Target” rifle. It was a 1925 Winchester model 52 very accurate and fun to shoot. Yesterday I bought a 1985 Remington 541 X Target 22LR. I dialed it in today at 50 yards and holy crap is this thing accurate. I thought some of my other 22’s were super accurate, but these two are definitely top dogs now.

Old target rigs are super cool.

Never had anything all that old myself, did have a 541T HB and didn't like the mags or the tiny bolt.
Liked my 64 M Anschutz better.

Current is.........don't laugh........a Savage MkII TR. Its ugly but shoots decent (more testing needed).
I decided to make it more ugly and slapped a Leupold Freedom 6-18X on it LOL

My personal favorite is my Mossberg 151m-b
Not the most expensive rifle out there but boy is it fun to plink with.
Those Mossberg rimfire rifles from back in the day are seriously underrated. I let a Model 42 go that I badly regret.

God I love .22's I could be like you guys and just have a massive pile of them and no other guns but a carry piece and a deer rifle. But I like my centerfires too...

Don't overlook the kimber model 52g.
CMP rifles that they moved calling them rusties. There was no rust just the long term preservative that would turn brown. They have all sold out long ago but you can still see them at gun shows.

Last one I saw for shop sale was when cabelas had the gun room. 1200 needless to say it was on display more than on sale.

My two favorite .22's are, a Mossberg model 146 and a Winchester model 1885 "Low Wall" that has been converted from .22 short into
    22lr using a Winchester model 52 barrel.
Fantastic shooting rifles and just plain fun.

Nothing but love for a 22lr. I grew up with a Marlin 60, back when the tube held a lot more ammo. Made one of the best shots of my life with a friends winchester 67. When I turned 18, then first gun I bought myself was a bolt action marlin 22mag that was mag fed. Sooo many groundhogs fell to that rifle it was unbelievable.

The one 22lr I'm still looking for is some type of a falling or rolling block type of 22lr. Sort of the quigley version in 22lr with a ladder sight or something like that. I've missed several chances at a few, but some day I'll find one.

I too recently acquired A Model 52 Winchester .22 from a member here. Also got the original unertal scope. I absolutely love this thing. All 9 lbs of it.
When I was younger shear power was all I desired. Now pin point accurate is my thing. Vintage even better. I do have a CZ457 that is dead accurate as well but just doesn't have that old school cool
