You guys do realize that Dirty Harry wasn't actually carrying a Model 29. From what I have read, he was actually carrying an S&W Model 57(.41 Mag)

Well, first things first-i would want to fire one before deciding whether or not it would make sense to invest in one. I'll check into some of the local ranges here and see if they have a rental. As for the ammo, i would hope it would be sold in 20 rd or less just to try one out.

Yeah, they do-big time! Almost 1/2 the price of the ammo!

There were availability/procurement issues with the M29 when they were filming!
