    Maybe it's my ignorance, but I don't see the word "need" anywhere in the Second Amendment. Need is a factor when obtaining a firearm, and it depends on personal circumstances, what the firearm will be used for, etc.

    They aren't your "2nd amendment rights". The 2nd doesn't give you anything. The 2nd amendment is a bar against government action that infringes your God-given right to protect yourself and your property with arms against the government.

    I know it's a nitpick but I think it is very important to understand the difference and use the proper language. If the 2nd grants you anything then what it grants can be trimmed, altered and changed over time. If it bans government action, then it bans government action. this whole idea that government can ban handguns or magazines et al is simply a result of the belief that the 2nd grants citizens something, when it does nothing of the sort.

    Not a nitpick at all. Totally understood and agreed.
