    From the article....
"Do not 2nd Amendment adherents also believe in Freedom of Speech?"

Freedom of speech is a restriction on the government.
It does not mean there will be a consequence free environment.
Go tell a man something provocative about a girlfriend/wife/daughter, and there will be a reaction.
Ask the Dixie Chicks about political statements.
    etc.

Wow! That he thinks that a private individual can "violate the constitution" just goes to show what a completely uneducated/misinformed jackass he is. The Constitution is a limitation upon the GOVENRMENT in all respects (except slavery) and that he thinks otherwise just goes to show exactly what this einstein is.

I am really curious to see what part of the 2nd amendment is a direct restriction upon the individual.

This whole thing really does not surprise me at all.
Dick is president over one of the largest shooting facilities in the US, namely PASA.
It large enough to host numerous national shooting events.
And here his is, wanting people to get firearms training before they get firearms.
Follow the $$$$... the only thing he was trying to do was mandate something that he would be able to make a buck for.
Mandate training for ownership, and guess who is going to make some $ and in a short time.

Don't get me wrong, I think getting training is very important.
It is a responsible thing to understand and learn new skill sets.
But how much and what is a whole topic that I don't think should be left to people who have a goal to eliminate firearms ownership completely.
And encouraging them with articles like Dick's does nothing to help our cause.

Well, he IS in Illinois, where they believe that the government has unlimited authority, and citizens should not complain about "reasonable restrictions." (reasonable as defined by the government, of course)
