Why would you think your "buddy" would rip you off? If he is a good buddy or true friend, then you would have no worries.
But yes you did o.k., I once owned a G27, didn't like the recoil of the 40 in that small of a package.

I have 2 guns in the safe that I gave more than they are worth to friends in need. Nice pieces and I will keep them until those friends want them back. Kind of a pawn deal I guess.
I have sold to friends in time of need and they have done right by me for the most part. I have bought most of them back. A true friend is worth the effort.

Yes, a good deal and helping a friend makes it a real deal. Now, shoot it and decide if you like it.
