    I followed a recommendation I read somewhere. I cut the dowel into about 5" lengths, drove it to nearly flush, then added another length as necessary.

    I used plenty of lubricatant on the slug.

    This works well. Also makes starting the ball way easier. Leaves a nice little ring of scraped off lead around the first short dowel piece.

    If they are good shooting, why don't you just measure the unfired Wolf bullet, just outside of the case?

    @fordfarmboy , ^^^^^^This, or pull the bullet from a Wolf round.
    Otherwise slug the barrel.
    They also make "T" gauges small enough to fit in a rifle bore.

    Depending on the diameter of the pvc pipe you use as an entry point, there's always the chance that muzzle blast will over pressurize the bucket and blow it apart. Anywhere but outside, this will be a big mess, and possibly dangerous. :coffee:
