You can't truly own anything. You can be the care taker for awhile at best. Perhaps not in line with the motivation behind or tone of the thread, but your mortality insures this to be the case.
Ownership is probably most useful as a legal term. You can legally "own" something. That ownership is absolutely temporary because you can't take it with you.

In a practical sense, ownership is what you have in your possession as long as you can keep others from taking it.

“Why am I paying TAXES on my wages?”
“Then paying sales TAXES to spend my money“?

    Great questions.

Then paying income TAXES on money they already TAXED and paying property TAXES after I already payed sales TAXES on said property?

Where is anyone paying income tax they already taxed?

Who is paying property tax after sales tax?

Can one truly own property? Or is it really just permission? (Not even going down the tax rabbit hole.). If everyone else wants your property and joins to take it how are you going to keep it?

No, and the same applies to nations. Ukraine and Taiwan think they 'own' their territory but others are trying to take it.

IIRC the Soviets' invaded Ukraine in the 1920's and kicked out the land owners that wouldn't go along with collectivization. Most of them were shipped to Siberia. They thought they 'owned' their land until someone else wanted it and took it.

Going back even further there are interesting similarities between land possession today and the medieval feudalism system.

Enjoy it while ya got it....

Who is paying property tax after sales tax?
One example, In Indiana we pay sales tax when we purchase a motor vehicle. This is for dealer or private sale, the only difference is where you pay the sales tax. Then we pay a tax every year in perpetuity based on the value of the property that we already paid sales tax. It never goes to zero. You cannot purchase the License plates (a tax) if you do not pay the annual tax on that possession. Some states charge you this annual tax even if it is a non running car, kept in your private garage and not driven for decades.
