Funny thing is most of my certs are not work related.

    Private pilot
D licensed skydiver (highest general skydiving license you can get)
    Static line Instructor
IAD Instructor (Instructor Assisted Deployment... static line but used sport rigs. Instead of hooking them up to the plane (requires a special rig) I would hold the pilot chute (part that pulls the pin) for them as they climbed out, then when they let go, I let go of the PC. I pulled the ripcord for them basically)
    CERT, CERT SAR
    NRA RSO
    CPR/AED
    Ubiquiti certified wifi
Siemens Desigo MNS (Mass Notification System)
(and a bunch of ancient work certs that are no longer valid)

Certified to work on 3 different gas companies mains and services.
I have about 3 pages of OQ's ( operator qualifications) that are DOT regulated for natural gas systems. Some have to be done once a year some are good for up to five years.

I have too many to list. I'm a millwright, ham bander, weather spotter, ex-LEO, veteran, etc.
All those certs don't mean crap except to the person who came up with them for position justification.

I'm a cop. According to 50% of the US population (that thinks television is real) there is quite literally nothing on earth that I'm not certified in or qualified to perform.

    Tippecanoe County
*Class B - CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements.
    *Confined space certified.
    *Trench safety certified.
    *CPR (may be expired).
*IDEM DSL (distribution services large) for water treatment.
    *LTCH (naturally)

Add it all up and it means I can lay pipe (oh yeah!), crawl sewers and climb in/out of man holes, drive a dump truck/vac/jet truck, may or may not be able to revive someone, in the eyes of Indiana I'm safe to work on and treat water lines for human consumption, and as you all know, legally protect my family and my self.

At the unheard of young age of 14 I became a certified Gunslinger. By defeating my instructor Cort in combat with my hawk David. David tore out Cort's left eyeball and quickly yelded. I didn't receive a plaque or a piece of paper, but a set of high caliber revolvers with sandwood grips.

We need a certification for that. It would eliminate the need for the hundred other pointless ones I have to keep track of so they don't expire.

This thread also reminds me of the certifications I have that aren't work related like sky diving, forklift operator, certifications for working on different telephone switching equipment, and a bunch of others that no longer apply. I should get out my folder of certifications that are work related and see how many I actually have.

I wish there was a curbstomp certification. Thats got to be worth at least a $5/hr bump in pay.

I used to have an MCSE (Microsoft Certified System Engineer), but that has expired more or less. I have other ancient technology certs that have expired as well.

The only thing I have now is the FEMA Cyberterrorism First Responder cert and my LTCH.

Reading this thread, causes me to think I might be either a late bloomer or possibly just an underachiever, then again if all goes well after next week, I should have a driver's license. Does that count for anything?
