I believe you are correct in saying they do nothing. I believe I am the only one writing letters to these idiots. They are all to stoned to listen anyway. This is appalling and I am unsure of what to do now. Letters and calls seem to be going no were. I don't even know of a 15 rd mag for a ar. I moved back out here from indiana after 10 years and it sure is different. We have been invaded by Californians in Denver and the rest of us mountain people must suffer.

In a legal wAy what s the best corse of action to take against this?

You could legally drive back to indiana :welcome:

Massive "I will not comply" occupy event. Not just a march. Not just a rally. Park your butts on their lawn holding high cap mags and large signs. Dare them to sign it and arrest thousands of law abiding hard working Coloradans.

It's a damn shame. I lived in Greeley as a young kid and finally made my way back to visit the state a few years back and had the time of my life. Wife and I have since debated moving there a little later in life when possible. However, I will not go somewhere that does this kind of stuff.

Gonna have to readjust our upcoming vacation plans. Maybe back to Yellowstone.

Biggest problem with any conservative movement is the large majority are gainfully employed and cant just go "park on a lawn" like the occupy movement.

Unfortunately we are not blessed with a very active forum in colorado like Ingo. It is small with few posts or members. We are not united like Indiana either. Magpul is are only hope, organizing such a event. I will be contacting them on Monday to ask for help. Any other ideas? Moving back to Indiana is a option but a last resort option as I spent over ten grand moving here less then a year ago.

    Saith the Dems:

Democrats said they’re simply striving to find a balance that protects affected businesses while improving public safety.
So it's okay for Magpul to stay in Colorado and manufacture implements of death and slaughter, as long as they sell them to OTHER people?

    That's mighty big of them.

I hope CO joins the list of no-sale states for manufacturers.

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
MAGPUL INDUSTRIES ANNOUNCES IT WILL LEAVE COLORADO IF GUN BILL PASSES

MOVE WOULD COST STATE 600 JOBS, $85 MILLION

Denver, Colorado – February 15th, 2013 - Magpul Industries, an Erie, Colorado, based manufacturer of firearms accessories, announced today that it will be forced to leave the state if House Bill 1224, which would ban standard capacity magazines, becomes law. The announcement was made to Governor Hickenlooper, state legislators, members of the media, and in a full-page advertisement to appear in the Denver Post on Sunday.

Richard Fitzpatrick, Founder, President, and CEO of Magpul Industries, said that regardless of any amendments that may be worked into the bill, he will no longer be able to continue to do business in Colorado if his core product is made illegal.

“Our company could not, in good conscience, continue to manufacture our products in a state where law-abiding citizens are prohibited from purchasing and owning them. ”
Fitzpatrick said. “The passage of this bill will do nothing to enhance public safety, but will force us to immediately begin taking our business to another state.”

A proponent of the bill argued that with the amendment language, the choice to stay or leave was up to Magpul. Fitzpatrick responded, "Our relationship with our customers across the country would be severely damaged if this bill passes and we stay. We've already heard word of potential boycotts if that happens. They (legislators) really need to understand that our customer base is as passionate about freedoms as we are, and staying here if this bill passes would cripple the company. Make no doubt about it...we have no choice, and would be forced to leave in order to save the business."

Magpul cited the example of the Eastern Sports and Outdoors Show, which was canceled earlier this year after the organizers announced that it would not permit a popular category of firearm, like the ones Magpul makes accessories for, in the show. Public outcry from the customer base forced exhibitors to withdraw from participation, causing the cancellation of the show, and an estimated loss of $70 million of show revenue for hotels, restaurants, merchants, and other businesses in Pennsylvania, where the show was to be held.

Magpul Industries directly employs 200 people, supports another 400 supply-chain jobs, and contributes over $85 million annually to Colorado’s economy. Doug Smith, Chief Operating Officer for Magpul, says that it is a difficult position to be in. "We could choose to stay in a state that wants our jobs and revenue, but not our products, and lose half the jobs we are fighting to save, or potentially the entire business, when our customers stop buying. Or, we can take the company and those 600 jobs out of Colorado to continue our growth and the growth of American manufacturing in a state that shares our values. This is not really a choice. It's an unfortunate and inevitable result of the actions of the Legislature if this bill passes."

Magpul was started over a decade ago by Fitzpatrick, a former U.S. Marine. It has become one of Colorado’s fastest growing businesses, successfully marketing its products to American and allied military forces, police departments, sporting goods stores, and thousands of responsible private citizens. Fitzpatrick says that the rich western culture and strong values of individual freedom and responsibility, traditionally found in Colorado, were one of the reasons the company chose to remain in the state.

“It is heartbreaking to me, my employees, and their families, to think that we will be forced to leave,” Fitzpatrick said. “But if HB13-1224 passes, we will simply have no choice.”

They do, but unfortunately they tend to do nothing about it except complain to each other on the internet. Of the 29,000 members on INGO, how many do you suppose have even bothered to write an e-mail to their legislator? How many showed up to the rally downtown?

Sadly Scutter I'm betting you are correct. I know taht I for one was at the 2/8 rally, and have written more emails, FB posts, and letters to my reps then I care to think about!

What I wanna know is, how much of Co.'s GDP comes from Magpul and the other companies it contracts with, and how much money can the State of Colorado expect to lose if and when Magpul leaves the state. Either way good people are gonna lose their jobs.

Well Colorado can kiss goodbye $85 million. Anyone notice how the Dems are talking about creating jobs while at the same time passing and proposing legislation that would kill jobs? And I believe if my understanding is correct, the company that does Magpul's plastic injection molding would leave the state along with Magpul, killing more jobs and costing more money.

I think it is noble of Magpul to say they will not manufacture items in a location where those items are deemed illegal. That would be like distilling whiskey in a dry county... oh wait

I'm friends with the mayor of Charlestown, IN. (Down South near Louisville - home of the old Ammo Plant). It would be a PERFECT location for Magpul. UPS Air hub next door in Louisville. I'll shoot him an email.

I was thinking about doing the same. Do you know who owns all of the land is being leased near the new Amazon shipping center in Charlestown?

Please do shoot Bob a note if you know him. I've known him for a long time and just shot him a note. More than one note can NEVER hurt.

I DON'T know who owns that land - but Bob will have a handle on it.

Any of you other INGO'ers that live in CHarlestown or have Charlestown area connections - get on it. Don't bother with Jeff or New Albany Mayors - relatively IDIOTS in my opinion. Evidence = the recent New Albany gun buyback. Get in touch with Bob Hall or whomever else might help. I'm not sure if there's an economic development partnership down in Charlestown or not.

I used to have contacts at One Southern Indiana (Chamber of Commerce sort of place)- but my contact moved on. Anybody have any contacts in that neighborhood?

I did some research, and it appears River Ridge Authority owns the land in the Charlestown area. I sent them an email, and will do the same for Bob.
