It's the voters fault , not the quality of candidates put up against Obama.

Ultimately, yes. Were either McCain or Romney my first (or second, third, fourth...) choice? Of course not.

Does that justify not participating, and letting an outright socialist who wants to fundamentally reform America to be elected (or re-elected)? Of course not.

Let the car crash so we can choose a new path. Choosing between a douche and a turd is not a choice I am willing to make anymore.

I just love these types of posts. Anyone with a single neuron still firing knows what would come after a "crash" will be MUCH worse than we have to endure now. Trust me it won't be anything even remotely like a representative republic OR a democracy, it will be a true oppressive dictatorship. People will demand SOMEONE do SOMETHING and the person that will would make the current elected officials look like amateurs.

Be VERY careful what you wish for...

    +1

If it's all just the same, I'd rather leave my kids a country as good or better than the one I entered.

Wanting to see a change to our current situation more to what I would like to think the founding fathers had in mind does not mean I would like to get there through a Mad Max type of scenario. Assless chaps and pink mohawks should never be allowed to get mainstream. I think you took "crash" too literal.

Persons who hate and despise this country and everything it was founded on shouldn't be allowed to become mainstream either, but they did. Apparently this does not apply to you but, where do some get the idea IF it collapses the leeches/socialists/statists, etc... in society will magically disappear and a majority of strict Constitutionalists will suddenly appear and set us on a course to regain what the founders gave us? Contrary to what some choose to believe, it can get much MUCH worse, and IMO it would.

Not voting makes you part of the problem. All those people had the same attitude as those who dont vote.."i wont vote for the lesser of two evils...." blah blah blah, you are screwing yourself and the rest of us. If all those people would have voted for Romney eventhough they didnt agree with everything he stands for, we would be so far better off RIGHT NOW, mainly because of OBAMACARE. Romney and obama are no where near the same. all those who stayed hom helped obama win, plain and simple. It is partially your fault. At least i KNOW that i didnt vote for obama, and i didnt want obamacare or 8 trillion more debt. You just let it happen. plain and simple.

Bush gave us the Patriot Act. Did you vote for him?

Let's not just think that it's only our votes that count, but is everyone donating time or money to those candidates that are on the front lines representing their values and beliefs? Voting/not voting is easy, but elections are expensive and we've already seen Bloomberg throwing his money into groups that are right here in Indiana that are doing everything they can to infringe/take away our gun rights. Are you giving to those that are standing up to these people? Even if they're not in your district, many are fighting hard for issues that do affect you on a daily basis. How many have benefited from the school parking lot bill and look how hard the Moms went after those legislators that were fighting for that right to be restored!

Our votes may or may not vote, that's true. There is one thing for certain though, they sure wont count if we don't cast them.

I'd rather waste my time voting for the candidate I believe serves our better interest than not an give into the one who doesn't care about our interests at all.

I have decided to stop voting in any election. It is the only form of non-violent protest that I have time for. We can no longer trust anything any candidate says. I have heard many arguments as to how it is my duty as a citizen to cast a vote but I see those people as the ones who are not yet awake. I no longer agree with the direction we have taken so I am not going to aid in the navigation. Let the car crash so we can choose a new path. Choosing between a douche and a turd is not a choice I am willing to make anymore.

As well as additional trillions in debt and more government run and tax payer funded socialised medicine. Never voted for him or his lame assed dem opponents. zippy is a parrot for the right and their talking heads, as we see every election. The only people to blame for the republicans losses are republicans.

That strikes me as a load of philosophical drivel. I notice this "great" Libertarian thinker apparently didn't think this thru far enough to explain to us exactly how he believes we are to elect/appoint our leaders, and yes no matter what we think, SOMEONE has to be in charge. Just leave the White House door open until someone wanders in, rock, paper, scissors?
