How do they know people didn't register their guns. Maybe all of them were lost in a horrible boating accident...

    Where's the bacon?
I saw and have used a similar quote:
When an honest man is shown proof that he is mistaken, he will either cease to be mistaken or he will cease to be honest.

That's a paraphrase, but the meaning is still valid.

Wouldn't it be an interesting twist if gun owners from other states started flooding CT media with calls for CT gun owners to continue to defy the law? I mean send so many letters and e-mails that the media there can't ignore it? Hey, they can't ignore controversy. It isn't in the media's nature. It would put ENORMOUS pressure on their politicians, for sure! Especially if we picked the biggest, most popular media outlet in CT and concentrated it all there.

It would really serve as a force multiplier for the besieged gun owners there.

Corrupt politicians will not listen to the people, they follow what they want. There could be calls 100-1 pro 2a, they will not be persuaded, this does NOT mean that we shouldn't call. Just don't be upset if victory doesn't occur. You can't expect a liberal or a corrupted conservative to be someone they are not.

They need to be pulled from office.

Corrupt politicians come from a corrupt people. How many voters are corrupt? It seems that it is a huge percentage.

How do they know how many haven't registered if they don't keep track of purchases?

They don't know, but they can estimate based on gun sales figures derived from sales tax information, license applications, etc. Every article I've read says that they have no idea how many really haven't been registered.

This lady liberal letter writer is adorable.

    Hartford Courant

Today's Courant says that there could be as many as 330,000 jews who refused to register them according to the law [Feb. 11, Page 1, "Thousands Ignore Law Ethnic Registration"]. Then now is the time to increase the penalty and start rounding them up.

At the first sign that someone is a Jew , they should be immediately tried and imprisoned. These are the people we must be worried and concerned about -- the ones who need to keep their ethnicity secret.

Something wrong when they refuse to obey the law -- a law necessary for the safety of the rest of us and our children. Lots of laws are not pleasant, but we do not deliberately break them.

Do those guys in Connecticut not know that their state government has just commited a serious crime? Why aren't the citizens crying for arrest warrants? The Supreme Court should not have to hear this! Besides, do you guys really trust those criminals who we have serving in the Supreme Court? Those idiots wouldn't know the Constitution if it hit them in the face. Besides, it's black and white in Connecticut's state constitution. Seriously, read this amendment from Connecticut's own state constitution.... "SEC. 15. Every citizen has a right to bear arms in defense of himself AND THE STATE."...

Now, think about it...The reason for this amendment is not only for self defense but in defense of the state, too. Well, in order for the citizens to defend their state/country, they must at least have small arms weapons which are equal or greater to their enemy's small arms weapons...How many bullets will be in an invading soldier's gun magazines, ten?

The last time I looked, the preferred rifle of choice, by our enemies, wasn't the single shot musket nor was it anything that only had magazines which only held ten bullets. So, if a government refuses to let their citizens have small arms weapons, which equals our enemies small arms weapons, the government is setting their citizens up for failure. They have also violated their own state constitution. Meaning, that most in the Connecticut government has just committed treason. Justice must be served.

Connecticut citizens should demand for the prosecution for all of those traitors who had anything to do with seeing this unlawful gun law passed. It is their duty to take to streets to cry out for justice. If this loud mouth police chief tries to enforce this unconstitutional law, it is also their duty to call for his arrest, too. There are a bunch of people who need to be awaiting trial for treason, but nothing will ever happen if we the people choose to do nothing..

I think it's going to be interesting to BOTH sides how this turns out. In our society, laws depend on people obeying them which they do only when they are reasonable. For example the silly 55 mph national speed limit was ridiculous and nobody obeyed it. People voted with their cars until finally the foolishness of it got it changed.

So obviously the new "law" in CT made 100,000 - 350,000 people potential felons but there is no way the state can arrest, prosecute, and imprison even 100,000 people like this. When laws don't make any sense, and this one surely does NOT, people won't obey and the authorities are left in a quandary about what to do about it.

Here is what I believe we'll see happen:

    1) They will pick a few high-profile targets and notify the media that a "major firearms offender" is going to be taken down. It'll be a big media spectacle and the police with arrive with full riot gear and overwhelming force. They certainly don't want a shoot-out but they will be ready just in case. The guy will be arrested and paraded around so there will be plenty of video for the evening news talking heads. In other words, they will make an EXAMPLE of a few in order to scare the rest into compliance.

    2) Here is where it gets tricky for the police-state. If people are scared into compliance in sufficient numbers, then the tyrants in the CT government breath a sigh of relief and are emboldened to take their anti-gun agenda even further. But if of the 100,000 would-be felons only say 10,000 give up and turn in their "contraband" to avoid being the next "example" for the media, that still leaves 90,000 or more to deal with.

    3) If the CT authorities let these people slide, they lose face so they are really stuck. We'll probably see "amnesty" offerings and the like to try to get better compliance.

The problem with a big-liberal state like CT is that it seems unlikely that there are enough real citizens to vote these clown out of office. I know if I lived there I'd be moving out already.
