Real cost shipped to me would have been 87 cents per round at 100 rounds. I passed as I am really looking for something heavier at that price or something cheaper at that weight.

Nothing personal, Lucky, but I had to quit thinking that way
because I would no have any ammo. Perhaps you already have
a good stash. But if not, I say buy what you can, when you can.
For all the little plinkers like us out there!

I have done quite well, using this thinking.

Do you guys think they're going to stop manufacturing ammo? Sit back and wait! The prices will drop AFTER the panic buying STOPS! Not until!

Well, and not saying this in a smartass way, what makes you
so sure it's going to be a calm political climate to get everyone
to slow down the buying? I ordered my AR in late November,
paid it off days before Sandy Hook, and picked It up the Saturday
after the shootings. I was not panicked before, (or after) but I have
been behind the curve all the way through. So tell me something
to put it all in perspective, please. Seriously. TIA

PS: If the opposite scenario happens, I'll kick myself
for not buying now. Plus, I get the best deals I can.

I agree that we need to stop panicking over supply. The reason people are buying so much now is not the fear of shortage, but the government has been threatening tax hikes up to 100%! The best way to stick it to us is to tax us. The government gets the money and their exempt from paying the tax when they buy. Again, I know this is speculation, but the war against the private citizen will be engaged on all fronts.

<Purple> Given the price increase in ammunition the last 6 weeks, I thought the tax had already been applied. <EndPurple>

Unfortunately there is no certainty. If you're not willing to gamble, buy now. If the prices drop, buy more.

Beech Grove Walmart had about 6 boxes of Tula 9mm. I was able to grab 1 box of Federal FMJ. East Washington Walmart has several boxes of .45 ACP.

Don't really know what to say to make you feel any better. I just think if everyone would refuse to pay the ridiculously high prices, they would come down. Simple supply and demand. Everyone wants .223, the prices go up. If no one was buying, or buying in reasonable amounts, the price would stay lower.
People freak out, and act like that pallet of ammo is the last one on earth, grabbing as much as they can carry, of course the price is going to be high.
