My cup runneth over a bit and I have stretched my safe to the limit....

I know my wife was getting her jewelry out the other day and she noticed the bottom of my safe is packed with Smiths and 1911's in the holsters just sort of wedged in wherever I can fit them....She was looking down at the growing wedge and said (and I thought it was kinda cute), "Wow....It looks like a bouqet of Smith and Wessons with a couple of 1911's scattered throughout like carnations ro the roses..."

I always vowed to not store guns in holsters but here I am doing it......

After trying several ways of storing handguns in a safe, mine are stored in half-zipped up gun rugs on the top shelf, like books on a shelf. Enough of the grip is visible to know which is which. Uses very little space, they are protected from dings, and they are ready for the range bag. I was concerned about rust, but it hasn't happened.

Anybody ever remove the inside of the door? I want to permanently attach some storage to it but not sure if it's an issue getting back on. It's fire retardant and I don't want to negate that screwing around with it.
