So, Indiana DNR has now OFFICIALLY announced to the public that Indiana has a feral hog problem. I'm watching WISHTV 8 this morning and they had a quick segment saying DNR said there is a problem, but they had $20 million over 5 years in fed grants that will rid them. Yeah right. I offered my help but they declined.

It's amazing that at the end of the DNR blurb, they posted the question "what should I do if I see a wild pig?" and answered their question with "report it to us at..." Just shoot it wasn't considered.

They've completed the circle around the sheeple.

See a terrorist? say something; see a common criminal? say something; see a destructive wild animal? say something...God forbid you'd DO anything.

Hopefully we don't see them for a number of years. When that time comes you are welcomed to my place in NE Indiana for all of them you want.

When they come I guarantee there won't be a farmer out there that wouldn't let them be hunted on their property. I've never hog hunted but it does look like fun!

With 20 million over 5 years, the government will be hiring connected "hog specialists" along with a large added dollop of crooked college professors to study and draw up plans for the problem. Lots of staffing, vendors, and consultants to soak up that pile of tax money. I always figured if they wanted to solve the python problem in Florida they just needed a few guys with checkbooks sitting next to 40 yard dumpsters with a scale and pay the local swamp rats by the pound to bring them in dead. Cheap, effective, and supports the local economy

While the government studies are being conducted, I am free to kill them piggies whenever I am allowed to do so. Several cases of 77 gr IMI Razorcore and all sighted in. I have been studying hog killing videos too. I can go night or day with the equipment I have now too. Send me a PM and I will be there in a flash to kill piggies. I will share all the meat I get with the land owner should he/she wish it too. I may not be suited to walking around the woods but I can scout the area and wait until the pigs xome to me as easily as the next person. Been studying the scouting videos too.

The hard part will be finding one who does t want you to pay for the privilege.

It's a simple supply/demand thing. If there are more hunters than pig damage, the hunters will end up paying. If there is more pig damage than hunters, the property owners will be thrilled to let you hunt for free. Of course, it is more likely that the government will get involved and none of the preceding will be correct while it costs the taxpayers, hunters and property owners much more than it would have otherwise.
