    A holler in Kentucky
Me and my wife went to see Gregg Allman at Belterra casino in Vevay last night (Gregg was awesome, that guy sounds exactly like he did 40 years ago) and we came back through Madison this morning, stopped off at Clifty Falls for some hiking, as I had a new pack I wanted to try out. We wound up doing over 12 miles on the trails in a little over 3 hours. Did trail 8 round trip, and did a couple other shorter trails nearby, 7 and 6 I believe. Moral of the story, spring of last year trail 5 kicked my ass, didn't even make it a quarter of the way before wearing out, this year, we owned the place! I carried a 10-12 lb pack the entire time, as well. I feel good about the day, got really winded a few times on big hills, but recovered quickly. Getting ready for a June trip to the Smokies, and I think today was a good test!

Since I work at a PC all day, I got my walking desk back up and running. Walk anywhere from 2 to 5 miles a day depending on what I need to get done.

    One hour bike ride. :woot:

First bike ride of the year so it was tough going up hill. :faint:

I'm hoping to get back out on my bike soon! Gotta make time for it though, seems like I'm always busy in the evenings.

I am still walking at work on my lunch break.

And I installed MyFitnessPal on a new device I got and I am actually going to use it this time. :yesway:

Walking lunges with a 15 pounds backpack.
Also pull ups and chin ups with the bag.

For some reasons I found out it's much easier to do pull ups witout the bag on my back. :):
Once I cant do anymore more pull ups I removed the back and try to do a few more.

I'm JEALOUS! I'd love to get a "walking desk" or "Treadmill Desk"! Cant get my employer to foot the bill though - the old "If I do it for you, I have to do it for everyone" argument. Of course its falacious, but it gets thrown up. I kieep thinking of jsut buying my own and settign it up in my office over the weekend some time and see what they do then...

I work at home so I can do what I want. I had a counter made at a local kitchen and bath store and set it on some rolling clothes hanger racks over a treadmill I picked up at the Sears outlet store.

Yep. You can't out work a bad diet.

Nope. This never clicked with me until this year. I played all the sports in high school, worked out, lifted weights and ate whatever I wanted. Over the last 15 years I continued to eat what I wanted and worked out less and less. Then last year I pretty much didn't work out at all and I started to feel how it was hurting my body. That's all the motivation I need to finally get my diet under control and realize we don't have to get discouraged and think we have to live in a gym every day.

At my last job they would set up a standing desk for pretty much anyone who asked. There were a handful of people who used them, but they didn't have the treadmill aspect.

At my current job we have a lot of graphic designers that use standing desks. There is also a dedicated office with a walking desk that anyone in the building can reserve in one hour blocks. I hadn't done it yet, but I think I'll try it out soon.

I really love the walking Desk idea I've seen an add for the stair stepper desks I didn't actually think anyone used them. Where I work its actually in the schedule that every other day you work out for an hour while on the clock I love it but our gym is kind of small we have a couple of treadmills and some free weights. I don't like running on the treadmills because 1. It doesn't let you get a full stride I have long legs and continually kick the front plate and 2. Its a lot different from running out side a lot less impact which is good until you try to run outside and realize it much more challenging per say. Dose anyone else have that problem or is it just me?

I really just hate running in general, but I do find that using a treadmill makes it a lot more tolerable. I have really flat feet and running outside leaves me with a ton of heel pain unless I run on grass.

That's cool that you can work out while at work. I talk walks over my lunch break and usually can get about 1.5 miles in.
