Seriously, for those who believe this is the first baby step toward socialism, you are about 100 years off, maybe more.

The Federal Reserve Act passed in 1913. Without the central bank's existence much of the socialism we already have (Medicare, Social Security, Drug Benefit, ad infinitum ad nauseum) would not have been able to come into existence because the fiat dollars required to fund this crap wouldn't exist.

The Fed is one of the main roots of the evil we see today.
