To answer you first question about what to look for, look for canted front sights. Thats the biggest most prominent issue I have seen and heard of.
I got mine for $400 from Midwest in July of last year.

If your planning to sbr it look for a champion pistol it's way nicer than a Draco iv had both and one got sold guess which one? Lol my champion won't leave my safe any time soon they come with threaded chromed lined barrels nicer wood and better fit and finish there kinda rare now though lol

I got a 7.62x39 one, had a nice guy drill and tap a sling swivel to the rear of the rifle, took it to the range, put it back in the box. Nice car gun.
