Hmmm... lowball offers. (Isn't highball some kind of drug slang?)

They don't bother me much... not on INGO. The folks shooting me crazy lowball offers on a house for sale started to really hack me off. They, in my view, wasted my time with all of the house viewing, etc.. Here? Not at all...

Wait... there was the time where I had the @(*$& @* (#&@# who kept pestering me to trade, for something I didn't want, then gave me a rash about it. Now THAT one, I was hair's breadth away from doing a Roy-D-Mercer and seeing how ripe he was... :)

Only really lowballs I've done were folks pursuing me to buy something... pursuing me because they really needed to sell but I didn't want it. "Come on, pal! How much will you give me?" Well, darn sure less than it's worth on the open market but I'll tell ya how much it's worth to me.

Not according to the agents I use who specialize in commercial properties. But hey, I've been doing this for a long time, and don't own distressed property, maybe for distressed property that would be normal.
Well, if you haven't noticed the commercial real estate has not hit bottom yet.
Residential should hit bottom sometime next year after last round of ALT-A option arm resets.
Many agents have also parroted over the past year 'now is a great time to buy/sell!!'
If they do, that indicates they are clueless on what happens in a dynamic market like now. Mark to market reporting on foreclosed properties, banks doing things like demo-ing brand new houses instead of selling them.
Those who are investing in real estate like they are still living in early 2005 probably also think 80386 computers are the cutting edge and will lead the future.
All the while, the current-present value of the dollar is tanking.
So you sell now, you lose.
You hold out for 2 years to get your asking price, and you lose again. (unless G20 summit makes more headway with new global currency).

$2.35 million dollar property and not a site supporter.....

JOC, what business of yours is it what HE does with HIS money? Are you a socialist, thinking you have the right to tell other people how to spend their money?

Tell that to the INGO member who PMed me a few months back.. along with a few other members here stating we need to become site supporters.

I told him the same thing, he needed to mind his own business.

keep fighting with each other while the real problem eludes us all.

FYI it is possible to support the site without $10 bucks. Some of us do one or both. Some of us don't know when to give it a rest.

A $5 million dollar property doesn't guarantee positive cash flow.

Knock the bickering off and get back to the good parts of INGO before more bad blood comes between us all.

    "DEALERS"; here's a clue.

He's an idiot (but an entertaining one) who "doesn't want to make money, but just sell guns!! " Now, we know that nobody gives away anything for free, except infected hookers, so why blast away at some dealer about whose financial position we are totally ignorant?? Here's the clue: I've been dealing with a Pawn-shop owner -- also a ClassIII dealer -- to get me an affordable M-16. "Affordable" as in less than $20000. I want one from in Military provenance. Been shopping his place for ovr 3 years. Always buy something when I go there. The more I buy, the greater the discount. The Friday before Labor Day he called me. "There's something coming out of pawn on Monday, but I'm closed. Be here Tuesday with $1000." So, I know it's not an AR-, but he won't say what is it. I got there, and my years of schmoozing and buying all sorts of stuff paid off in Spades : a Brand New In Box, all the fitments, papers, plus four magazines, of a .308, DPMS, AR-10. Asked $900 cash. I asked, "Why'd you say to bring $1000?" He says, "You'll need ammo, and I' not giving THAT away." Gunners, treat your dealer right (if he deserved it) and your gun life will be improved. Pat.

Pawnshops are King of the lowball offer!

Does Indiana gun law prohibit pawn shops from pawning or loaning against firearms?

I knew some had ffl and still could buy and sell new or used guns but I thought that was it. Something about using firearms as colatteral or am I thinking of the title loans that are no more in our state.

Personally I would much rather have the option of buying back my stuff if I could, but what do I know?

People are always looking for deals so they lowball but it does get old. Money is tight these days for some folks effected by the Obamanomics.

Why are we bellyaching about low-balls? All you have to do is say no....

Is this not the land of barter?

Hell, I get pissed off seeing a used pistol with 2 mags for the same as retail... I'd rather buy the brand new gun with no round count...

I don't understand getting upset about low ball offers either. Like HICKMAN said, all you have to do is say no. I personally don't mind knowing that at least I have one potential buyer should no one else be interested. I can then decide if I want to PM the low baller back and counter in the middle or take it in the arss if I need money.

I bought a new P32 at PSS for 239.00 but on here I see used ones where guys are asking 250.00 - 275.00. Is the paper trail issue that big of a deal to forego a guaranteed warranty and round count piece of mind.

I am looking for a used Remy 870 barrel and another member PMed me with one for 75.00 + 5 bucks shipping. I have had a few other offers anywhere from 50-100 bucks, none including his what I was exactly looking for. So I simply PMed him back asking him if 75.00 was the lowest he would go. I got a PM back stating he wouldn't just give it away.

To me 75.00 is a good deal but nothing exceptional. In any case I PMed back and apologized if I offended him and wished him luck. Got back another PM stating that he had already made up his mind not to sell to me even if I wanted it going forward...that I should have recognized a good deal.

Just my 2cents...isn't bartering and trading part of the fun of this. Getting the deal is part of the thrill and I personally love giving a good guy a hell of a deal vs. selling an arss my gun at full price.

Offended by low ball offers no. Going to just give stuff away? Dont think so. However that seems to be what some people expect you to do. New 870 barrell 185.00 from 21st Century online sight. Offer the barrell in I would say 85% or better condition for 75 bucks, I would say is good deal. Again not going to give it away. If you try and lowball using the I just got this offer off of another forum, same goes dont get offended if you get told no thanks not giving it away.
