How many kidnappings would allow before you'd be ok with a shootout around your family? I would say, to any sane person, they would want their family a part of any shootout during an instance they are not involved in, no?

No one had been kidnapped. But the actions taken would be the best way to push the robbers take hostages or hurt innocent people.
I'm just trying to get you to see the tactics used were not in the best interest of the public.
I wonder what it cost in total to shut down the highway and that many productive people even without injuries or casualties.

The bottom line is that it makes absolutely no difference what the police do or don't do. You'll end up with a pretty consistent number of people who don't like it regardless.

When you work for the public, you have a very fickle, mostly uncaring, b*tch of a boss.
