Hi shroomers Thunder storms early this week up in Elkhart county, and they will be poppin from now till MoMs day, and probably a bit after.
Have about nine spots marked in the GPS, so I'll be lookin.

Found several pounds last year starting right around April 20th. I've been checking the hot spots every day this year since April 1st. Can't wait for 'em to start poppin!

I haven't been out looking yet, probably start on Thursday.
I did cook some of last years mushrooms up with supper tonight to fight off the fever till they start popping. Few things taste better than morels and diced potatoes wrapped up in butter bread.

First Morel of 2010 - Monroe co.

Well here it is! My first morel of 2010.. It's a small one, you see it here next to a Hornady Critical Defense 9mm. I found this and a couple other smaller ones in my usual 'hot spots'. There were not many this time but there will be many more to come!

I posted this in the other thread, but here is what was found when I hit the woods with my grandma on Sunday.

My grandma called me a little after noon today and told me she found 91 grays today. She went to a different spot than we went on Sunday, but it is still south of Linton. It sounds like the rain we had the other day was just what the fungus needed.

I would think they'd start popping soon. I've never actually hunted east of the river, but I do know people who have found them in the hills outside of Bloomfield.

Buddy of mine in Jennings county said the got over 100 today. I bet after this rain by Saturday they will be poppin good! Hopefully
