If you want an "odd ball"... the best one I can think of is a Steyr M9, S9, C9, or L9
Very underrated gun!

If you go the polymer route take a look at the CZ PO-9 Duty. For me it's the only polymer framed gun that's ever felt as natural in my hand as a 1911.

Citadel 1911 9mm is one of the best buys in a steel 9mm pistol. Mine is tight and he trigger is pretty nice. I paid 350.00 for mine. Fun range gun, to big to carry.
