Not that I'd wish it on anyone, but those two suicide attempts in prison will not be the last. Unhappiness, depression, emotional distress, first chalked up to living in the "wrong" body, then after the change and the initial euphoria wears off, the unhappiness, depression and emotional distress is chalked up to discrimination against the transgendered....as society at large has become more accepting, the unhappiness, depression and emotional distress is not going away.

It wasn't caused by externalities to begin with.
