Obama stops Texas voter ID law

Hey Kirk I read this. Can you tell me why it stated 16 states?

It is the way they count them. Some of the states do not have §5 applying to the entire state, CA, NY, NH, MI, etc.

You know what aggravates me about the people objecting to voter ID laws? They say it disenfranchises the poor.....well are those same poor people disenfranchised when they go to buy a 6 pack of beer, or a pack of smokes, or drive a car, or file for their welfare "benefits", or get a job? I mean, all those things require an ID.

Heck, let's turn the tables on them, requiring photo ID to buy a gun disenfranchises the poor from buys self defense tools. (Not that I'm suggesting people should actually be able to buy a gun w/o ID....just saying the hypocrisy is nuts!)
