    Then based on your theory a police officer committing any type of crime should receive a harsher sentence than a "civilian" for a similar infraction ?

    Depending on who you`re talking to, they will say police can commit no crime, as they`re absolved of any duty to obey the law in order to supposedly keep it. It`s an absurd notion of course, but there really are those, even in light of video showing a police officer murdering a man running away by shooting him in the back, then planting a taser, who will say he did noting wrong.

    But back on point, so called hate crime legislation, and anything similar is just nonsense.
