I finally got to shoot a Legion today up in Starke County.

Yes, my front sight was on straight. Great gun, ran like a sewing machine and sights were on. Considering buying one . . . until I called a real life gun writer to brag and she told me about the cigar club and the jackets . . . and then I used profanities against Ron Cohen and quickly my world came crashing down around me.

I picked up a Sig 229 legion last month and was surprised how nice it is. The grips, reset, balance. Etc almost perfect. I have tei d both DA/SA and SAO but I prefer DA|SA

Looking to pick up a Legion 226, just deciding if I want to go with the SA/DA model, or the SAO. Any opinions?

Any LGS have these in stock? Has anyone shot them?

SAO is my vote. Had a 226 40 do. It was pretty nice but my buddy got the 9 Sao and I love it. But I'm a 1911 guy

Totally agree. If you like 1911's, the P226 Legion SAO is very nice

If you are lucky you can find one for around $1100. Most of the ones I've seen lately are closer to the $1300 range. MSRP is $1428

They are pretty rare still. Two are listed on GunBroker right now, for $1179 each. Saw one at the 1500 yesterday around the same price. I was lucky when I found mine and paid $1099. That was after watching for a couple of weeks for the right deal to come along. I've seen other Legion's in gun shops for as low as $1050, but not the SAO model, except when Point Blank sold their rental Legion SAO for $999 used (both locations had one). I've heard of people getting them as low as just under a grand, but my thinking is that you'd really have to luck into one for that kind of a price.

That said, the gun is very worth the price. The extra features over other models are well worth the extra money.

Yeah, this thread has got me Jonesing for one. I was checking it out on the Sig site when my wife walked in, and from the look in my eye and the drool coming out of my mouth, she though I was on some adult porn site!

I tried to explain that it was better than porn, but she just furrowed her brow, shook her head, said, "Yes Dear" and walked out.
