Change it to "Polar Bear Pie"... Kind of like Cow Pie - but it's what happens after the Polar Bear eats the Eskimo :D Look, I get the issue - but we also need to lighten up, just a little. There's got to be a balance somewhere.

They've been around for 100 years. You'd think that there would have been plenty of opportunities to bring up the name before now.

I know I'm stupid, but when did Eskimos complain about the term?

    From the article:

"Although there has been little public pushback to the Eskimo Pie in the way there has been to the Washington Redskins, at least one woman, who was of Inuk heritage, has said that the name is offensive."

    So there was one anyhow.

That’s the standard. It takes one person to be offended to confer the offense to the entire group. As a person with teeth, I’m offended by Joe Biden’s dentures. Now all people with teeth are offended by Joe Biden’s dentures. He has to get rid of them now.

So, Yelp supports the “Guilty Upon Accusation” culture?

    How very Soviet/SPLC of them.

It would be great if the canceled establishments could get some monetary satisfaction from them.

And here we have another reason to not move to California. The CAREN act. Yes, because of the Karen meme. Makes it a prosecutable offense to call 911 for “racist” reasons. Can’t imagine how that could possibly be abused. In practice, it basically makes it illegal to call the cops on minorities.

Not exactly. It's a stupid law and this sums it up pretty well.
Another resident named Shannon Drake slammed the CAREN Act as “unenforceable and divisive,” writing in part, “The proposed CAREN act is a bad idea, in most cases it is nearly impossible to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that a call is racially motivated, this creates incredibly dangerous grey area in our legal system that can easily be abused. It will also cause more division in our communities as people will undoubtedly read bias into the rulings.”

Looking at the text, it doesn't change a whole lot.

You still have to prove intent.

I'm not necessarily against it; wasting LEO is not cool, IMHO.

Want to exploit it? Just wear a MAGA hat in SanFran and wait for the 911 calls.

That doesn't make any sense - "it's impossible to enforce, therefore it will be abused."

It sounds like Indiana's handsfree law - nothing more than ink on a page.

You misread. Impossible to PROVE thus easily abused.

How are you going to prove someone called 911 based upon prejudice for some protected class? Even the example in the article in NY was more about the guy annoying her than him being black.
