Thunder Over Louisville

Things are getting interesting for the Derby Events. Teenage mob a couple of weeks ago that injured several people was said to be an isolated incident. Now we find out the mob is a gang of middle school kids that is part of a larger gang. The FBI is now involved and a document was leaked saying the gang is "armed, crazy and fearless". Word on social media there is a hit out on the daughter of a man that stabbed a kid in self defense on a TARC bus and the gang is saying that they will be showing up in force at the Pegasus Parade and other Derby Events.

Then you have the Mayor of Louisville asking everyone with permits to leave their guns at home. Like that is going to happen.

I live right across the river in Indiana. I do not attend these events, just not a fan of the crowds.

I'll sit on my patio and watch the airshow and fireworks, I don't leave the house on thunder day. Fortunately, my neighborhood doesn't get hardly any of the traffic or crowds, but I'll still be packin'.

The problems are much worse then what is being shown or reported as Louv. is hiding everything they can to keep the bad press out, no charges are being filed and nothinf is beinf done about the problems.

I chose to avoid the craphole and spend my money elsewhere, if Louv. wants the people and money to come to their city they need to get rid of the issues...

Thank you....We have got too many Canadians coming down as it is......(Except for DoggyDaddy...He is my favorite Canuck and except for his annoying habit of saying "aboot" instead of "about" could easily pass for a genuine Hoosier Hillbilly...)

Not surprising. I have any form of entertainment, food or shopping I want in the north side suburbs. I honestly have zero reason to visit Indy unless it's a Colts game or Pacers game. And I can't afford pacers or colts tix very often.

I get lucky, one of my wife's friends brother is a state trooper and we get to hangout with them and then get front row seating on the I-65 bridge and then get police escort away from the festival.

Usually I go to Thunder, but this year I'll be staying in the hills of Indiana to watch. Away from all the crazies.

On a side note, anyone else catch all of the fight jets practicing today? I was at class at UofL, and they were all over the skies. The classrooms were shaking the planes were so loud. I had the biggest grin on my face.

Yes, I sure did. It was great to see The Blue Angels again. I was in Meijer's on Charlestown Road and they flew overhead, it was as though Meijer's had no roof those planes were so loud.

Down at Chuy's for lunch then Sam's. I watched them practice a good while before heading into Sam's. Loved the 4 plane diamond formation! Man they were loud when the formation came roaring by!

I was at IUS all day and they came over the too several times. It never gets old. Thank God the sequester is over.... Lol
