Took my 9 year old daughter to the range for the first time.

Not her first time shooting, but her first time at a range. I was impressed with her shooting for a "first time". I need to get her a rascal or something similar and get her trained using irons. Length of pull on this rifle as also too long for her. Unfortunately this was the only 22 I currently had on hand (dad borrowed my other for varmints).

*Added bonus, I got to run my first 100 rounds through this bad boy.

Awesome! Good shooting! Keep her at it.

My girl started shooting about 7. She's 12 now. Loves her (actually my) 10/22 and the Heritage single action. We'll be hunting squirrel together very soon!

A 10/22 with a collapsible AR style stock can grow with her. A set of Tech Sights and you are going to go.

This is the stock I have and it fits just about everyone.

I think it depends on her size.
I've known some kids that were too small for my 10/22 with a collapsible stock, especially the barrel being too heavy.
    But they loved the Rascal.

I know it won't last forever, but Rascals and Crickets aren't very cost prohibitive either.

What range did you go to? I took my daughter to an outdoor range this summer but would like to find an indoor range. Not everyone will allow that age range.

    Point Blank in Greenwood.
They dont really have an "age limit" per se, more of a minimum height suggestion so that they can see over the table/shelf. She is about 52" tall and didnt have a problem.

Congratulations! What a great experience to share with your daughter. Train em young and you avoid trouble in the future.
