    Do you put this tank inline with your water heater? If so water would fill it first, come to room temperature then go to your water heater. It would always recycle and should save money heating water.

    since we are on the topic of water storage, I've been filtering (with a brita) water and re-filling the 5 gallon jugs we get from Ice Mountain.

    Is there anything special I need to do to the water? I store it under our basement stairs, where it's pretty dark and cool. I'll rotate the jugs to the dispenser and refill, and keep the one jug I get from Ice Mountain unsealed in our stash.

    Sailor this tank is not designed to be in-line. The tank would have to be designed for a pressurized system. I suspect the fill cap at the top would prevent that even if you wanted to. My tank arrives on Tuesday the 5th.
