Oh, as an aside, I have very reliable information that a 98 Z28 1lE Camaro, accelerating past 150mph on that straight stretch of SR57 just south of SR 67, will have the tops of the unframed door windows pop out of their tracks. Most unpleasantly exciting at that turn of speed. Surprisingly the drivers seat pan was still the original factory medium gray!

I'v been let off everytime I have had a firearm in the vehicle. The two times I didn't I got tickets. Did the weapons play a role? I have found it strange anyone else?

Elnora Town Marshall, 65 in a 50. The Escort made the pull over, you're had noise. My parts built AR was in a bag across the back seat.
This was after I had started shaving my head and had been hitting the gym for a couple of years. He asked me if I was LE or military and I said no.
I told him that I was fiddling with my GPS because the road ahead was closed and I was looking for an alternate route. He seemed more interested in the rifle, I finally realized that he was bored (Google maps Elnora, IN) and since I had pulled over to wait for him to turn around I figured I would explain that I was on my way to meet my brother to go the 1500 and probably wind up at Atterbury to go shooting.

It’s almost like, if you act like you have some sense, the officer will respond in kind?!?!?!?!
Usually, but not always. I had a negative experience with an IPD officer many years ago. For the life of me, I still don't know what set this guy off. I didn't go to jail but my car got towed. I was left at the side of the road in a sketchy neighborhood in December with a light jacket and office shoes. It was pre-cell phone days so it was a long cold walk.

You can't say this much and just stop. Why were you pulled over, first off?

It was a long time ago and it's not helpful to dig up an old complaint. I did take it to internal affairs and the matter is closed.
My point was to agree with the OP but to also point out that it's not universally true. Every group has a few black sheep and anyone can have a bad day.

Personal best, 97 in a 55. Vacant stretch of highway, radar detector pegged, about the time the high beams lit up the reflective STATE POLICE decal on the back of the cruiser parked on the hard shoulder. I laid on the brakes and pulled over 30' in front of him. License, registration conversation, signed summons for speeding. Then had a chat about the car. He was surprised that it could go that fast. I proceeded to tell him about what a Plymouth Neon ACR was. He was much more pleasant than the judge but I was happy with the 10$ and court costs (~160$) fine.

If you know you are had, pull over and wait and be polite. This has worked multiple times and only once resulted in a fine (see above). Never a free ride and unwanted wrist jewelry.

I have you beat. Pulled over (different times) for 120 in a 65, 100 in a 50, and 91 in a 50. All 3 times walked away with a citation (for way less than I was actually going), got court supervision / traffic school each time to keep it off my record. I never preemptively pulled over, but certainly pulled over right away and was polite each time. But I also got really lucky.

Another instance..... When ISP had B4C Camaros I had my 98 Z28 1LE Camaro. The local ISP B4C car was red. I came off an on ramp in in the left lane. He went past me in the right, then slowed down to come up parallel to me. He gunned the throttle several times to see if I would participate in an impromptu speed contest. I braced my thighs against the wheel and held up both hands with the wrists touching while shaking my head, thus declining his offer of sport and incarceration.

I imagine your attorney could've argued entrapment in that case. If the officer was the one to initially incite the illegal behavior, you have a strong case for an affirmative defense. I think you'd likely get off.

However, declining the invitation was by far the best option. Much cheaper and less stressful!

It took 45 minutes to get a Yugo up to 55 MPH.

The ONLY vehicle to blow off the Mighty Mac...
I took my wife across the bridge for her first time the weekend it happened. High winds warning. No semi's or campers allowed to cross. If there was another way home she would have made me take it. Scared to death of that bridge to this day.

I just got pulled over in Columbia City a couple weeks ago. Admitted to coming in a little hot. Talked hunting for w half hour. Lol. He was real cool about it and no ticket. I'll slow down there just out of respect for that. I've had enough tickets for ten people and hold a masters from the Indiana School of Defensive Driving.

Yes. I was not the first person he tried this tactic on. As a SCCA member, I had another local member (Southern Indiana Region) relay an almost identical episode that had happened to him a couple of months earlier.
