I'm looking into buying my wife a knife. Since she's a school teacher, it has to be small. But I'd like to find a good one. Perhaps one that fits on a key ring, I dunno.

I'd like to try to get something at the 1500...

    Any ideas?

If she's a teacher a key-ring knife is a bad idea, as the chances of someone seeing her keys are pretty good.

Would she be using this for potential self-defense? Or for cutting chores? What is the school's policy on knives (ie does she need to hide it)?

No idea on the policy. She has no idea either, I've asked before.

I just figured it's a "don't ask don't tell, outta sight outta mind" thing.

It would mainly be used to cut items, but would be nice to use for "possible" self defense, but it's not a huge concern.

Then get her a small box cutter. It will fit into her purse, and it won't raise hairs if she gets seen using it for cutting chores. It could also be used as a weapon in a pinch.

(I still wouldn't recommend attaching it to her keys though)

Never thought of a box cutter. That wouldn't raise suspicion at all...

    Box cutter has no panache.

And that's EXACTLY why its a perfect fit for this type of discreet role. If she's seen cutting open a package or letter no one cares. If she did it with a pink folding knife it will draw attention, and the second thought will be "wait, I didn't think we could have knives here in class. . . ."

Before you do anything, you MUST find out what the policies are for teachers and administrators having/carrying anything that would/could be considered a knife and that would include a box cutter...it's not worth losing a job over. :twocents:

I don't think you will find Amazon at the 1500.

Probly not Knife Lady, but I bet there's some Kershaws. The link was for the pic and reviews. Not to suggest a place of purchase. :D

Every time I say your name in my head I say it in a derogitory tone. There's a comedian, Brian Regan who used to do a skit about the lady at the donut shop counting down his dozen donuts as he ordered them. "You've got 4 left"
He'd do a dumb voice and say "What if I get two more, then how many will I have left? How many then, donut lady?!" Any name with "lady" in it just comes out that way when I say it.

Found it! from the 6:00 minute mark.

I don't have the problem the donut lady has since my customers do not order knives by the dozen. :D
First time I have heard of this comedian. Thanks for sharing.
