Why is it so hard to get .22 ammo anymore ?

Sounds like it is getting to the point where if you live in a high populated area with lots of stores you can find it. However if you live in a small town of the beaten path with few stores it is still hard to find.

Which category does Bloomington fit into? I can't find it there.

I'd say Bloomington is in between to the small side. Not near the amount of stores as Indy that stock it. Come on down to Bedford where the choices are even less. Last time I was in cosners he had lots of mini mags...$16 per hundred.....lol. Last time I found any and bought was at a gander in Michigan 2 years ago and at a cabelas in Louisville last summer.

I only hoard 22 because I can't reload it......well you can but its not worth the effort. I figure when we have kids it would give our kids something to do and say things really go down hill in this country and we have grandkids would like to be able to show them what shooting was like as well as be able to shoot something when I become old and decrepit that won't break my body.

Last time I was in there, he didn't have much except expensive target ammo.

Traildust got a small shipment of .22 LR in on Saturday evening. Mostly Federal high-velocity match and a little bit of Remington Golden Bullet bulk pack. I'm looking forward to trying out the Federal high-velocity match and comparing it with CCI mini-mags, the price is about the same.

Point Blank in Greenwood has CCI, and many other brands of .22lr.
