No Palin supporter has answered my question on how they think she is even remotely electable. I imagine its because they are fully aware that she stands no chance. She is completely outclassed in these ranks. She would get taken to the woodshed by Obama and that is saying something because he has been pretty freakin horrible.

I would believe it would be the other way around. Obama only says what people want to hear and repeats what he wants like he is trying to hypnotize someone. Paline stands up and tells you how it is.

So tell me how do you think she could get elected? She is never going to get the left side vote, she is seen as a kook by the middle, and she doesn't even have the majority of the right on her side.

But seriously, she would get owned in a real debate, just like in 08. She may have some impressive rah rah speeches that were written for her and she has practiced hundreds of times. But give her a real question and she babbles on about nothing and then later cries that it was a gotcha question. She is a joke lol.

Agreed - I don't care what Chambers said.

Chambers is the guy who did it. Don't you think the guy who did it might know why he did it?

Why would agreeing to add more debt prevent a downgrade??:dunno:

Creditors like to think you'll pay your bills. If you don't pay your bills they don't like to loan you money. The Debt Ceiling bill was about being able to pay the bills. The downgrade was about raising the cost of loaning the government money because of the increase in perceived risk when some members of Congress showed a lack of responsibility about paying the loans back.

Certainly there is more than one thing at work here. Chambers also mentioned the long term unsustainability of the debt load. That issue unquestionably needs dealt with in a more rational manner. None the less the guy who actually did the downgrade kept coming back to the issue of whether the bills were going to get paid then.

Republicans, Tea Partiers, Libertarians, and conservatives as a whole are right that we need to deal with total debt load. None the less, those willing to let the whole thing crash to make a point missed another larger point. That's what got us the downgrade.

SarahPAC takes contributions from little ol folks like me and has raised millions.

Based upon what I've been able to find so far she's brought in just short of $3 million. She's sent out another major mailing asking for more.

Here's the current FEC filing. Interestingly, she's itemized 369,406.50 with 1,289,491.21 not itemized. On the itemized list, the largest aggregate donations are $5000. These larger donations came from such diverse people as the president of an import company, an investor, retirees, homemakers, and such. One I noticed was $5000 from the president of Acorn Advisory and $5000 from his wife. (Doubtless not that Acorn.) The most curious I found was $5000 from a "Student". (Things must have changed quite a bit since I was a "Student".) Then there were a few Oil and Gas concerns at the $5k level. Not too bad, I suppose, though I am curious about that $1.2m unitimized chunk. Certainly not as bad as most, though there is one other who's at least as good. Care to guess who that is?

Her expenditures are interesting. $65k to actual political campaigns at $5k a pop. $63k going to buy copies of her book to hand out to fans. The rest seems to be going for a deluxe vacation including a stop in Israel that didn't turn out all that well

Let's keep in mind that this isn't money collected for her campaign, but for the campaigns of others she supports. In spite of that, she hasn't spent all that much on political campaigns, though it would seem she's having quite a vacation.

During this search I saw a picture of her on the back of a motorcycle at Rolling Thunder. The bike was clearly being piloted by another female. Then there's a picture of her in a tight knit shirt. Say what you will, but Palin is playing the gender card. It still looks to me like there are quite a few people hoping to be dealt into the hand. So to speak.

We could say she is having a vaction but let's get honest anyboody that has a job where they travel is going to take advantage of the time while they're not "working" to either sight see or have fun. This is normal for anyone. Also yes she is a woman, and you could say she is playing the gender card, but let's be honest there are many that would not vote just for the simple fact that she is a woman. Our world still has trouble excepting that women and men may do things differently but they still can get the job done no mater the gender.

I have no trouble accepting her gender. If I thought she was worth it, I'd consider voting for her. I do not. The fact is John "Cash And Vacations For Influence" McCain, the Banker's Buddy, picked her precisely because of her gender, not her qualifications. They thought Hillary might run at the time and felt they needed a woman to compete. At the time she was it.

As to the vacation issue, she's spending the lioness' share of the PAC money on traveling around. $65k out of $1.6m (perhaps $3m) has gone to supporting political campaigns. Let's actually be honest. That's not much. If she really is running doesn't she have to change the nature of her financing? I've read (though I do not know if it is correct) that the type of PAC she's running can not be used for her own campaigning. (If this is wrong I'd like to be corrected.)

Further, allow me to point out that she has skipped two debates so far. (Which is, or course, why I asked how she did.) That puts her solidly into scam lightweight territory. If she wants to run she needs to stand tall and take a chance of being eaten alive by the others. Bachmann has.

Another intelligent comment from our favorite liberal atheist who is not a homosexual but believes in gay marriage.

BTW - how old are you?

Is "liberal atheist" all you have in your name-calling arsenal or do you ever plan to offer up some sort of intelligent or at least a passably witty rejoinder? Because seriously, your constant childish name-calling is getting a tad old.

If it is an accurate description, is it name-calling? hmmm, now that's a conundrum....

Making the assumption that anyone that opposes the political aspirations of Sarah Palin is both a liberal and an atheist can hardly be called accurate. Unless of course the OP has personal knowledge of each INGO'er that has posted in this thread's political and religious beliefs.

I say it's repetitive and baseless name-calling, YMMV.

My comments are not "baseless". They are based on what this person has posted, and I stand by them.
