Bifolds are great. takes a while to get used to. Just cleaned mine out except for a gun shops business card, license, nursing license/cpr card, and my debit card and walmart gift cards.

I barely notice it's in my back pocket, unless I am driving for more than an hour...then it hurts my sciatic nerve...

I typically buy a new leather 15 dollar bifold every 2-3 years.

Interesting. Some look like regular wallets that are just very thin.

What do you like most about them?
They are like regular wallets. The material is very thin but holds up well. I am hard on a wallet and they last me a couple years. When I first found them they had one style and it was available in brown or black. Now there are a lot of different choices. Even with the thin wallet I carry it in the front pocket. I found that not sitting on a wallet has saved me a lot of back pain. Being thin they aren't hard to carry in a front pocket.

Here is the one I like. They changed it very slightly and call it a new arrival.
http://www.bigskinny.net/sport-wallet-chocolate-brown.html I get them in black not brown.

I have something similar to this, but the outside opposite the money clip is a clear slot for your DL. I bought one in high school and never looked back...I believe I'm still just on my second one since then.

Go on Ebay and do a search for Eelskin wallets.
    Thin, strong, and awesome. IMHO
I think mine was like $15 delivered.
Once you try one you will never go back to cow leather.

Ok, you guys can stop the thread now, I'm here with the answer. Go on over to Jenkins and find the ID holders. They sell simple leather ID holders with the Indiana state seal on them. Each side on the inside has a clear, plastic window and nothing else. I put my driver's license in front on one side with my debit card behind it hiding. On the other side facing out is my LTCH, with CPR card, insurance card, hunting license, etc. behind it. If you fold your bills in half they slide right in behind your debit card for easy access. I bought one for $14.99 about 4 years ago and it's still in my pocket today. It's cheap, super thin, durable, holds all that you want it to hold, and has a cool state seal logo on it.

I carry a front pocket wallet. Had back pain issues and it was a suggestion by the Dr to dump the wallet. Mine holds my license and debit card and has a really strong magnet to hold cash. It's a columbia, got it at kohls i think.

    So here's a long-overdue update!

After my initial posting INGOer Bflo was kind enough to "gift" me with a Perry Ellis front pocket wallet to try out. It was very nice, but it had some issues that came to the surface when I used it.

(not actual wallet, just a close representation)

    Pros:

    • Thinner/smaller than my old bifold
    • Held just the basics-- a few cards and a few bills
    • Had a big ID window for quick IDing
    • Black leather and silver money clip was stylish
    Cons:

    • Money clip made entire wallet thicker than it could've been, even if no bills were clipped in
    • Money clip would flop around loosely unless there were 4 or 5 bills attached - would make clicking noise if carried in jacket pocket
So I kept on looking for something that was just as thin, but would fit my needs even better.

My wife and boys got together this Christmas and got me another wallet that I had been considering. The Jimi Wallet.

Jimi&#8482 wallet - Colorful, compact wallet & detachable money clip

It is Smoke colored, which is nice because its dark and masculine (less masculine than leather, but more than bright pink), but I can still see my ID directly through the case.

First impressions are quite favorable, and I'm looking forward to giving this wallet a full review.

    More later!

I'm looking for a new wallet.

When I was first old enough to carry a wallet I carried a tri-fold, like the one seen here:

    TriFoldBrnWallet3MainLrg.jpg

I never did like how the tri-fold folded my bills, and I didn't like how quickly it would bulk up. I never carried it in my back pocket like most guys do.

So I later switched it up to a bi-fold, like this:

    leather-bifold-wallet.gif

That's what I currently carry, and I still don't like putting it in my back pocket-- its bulky and uncomfortable when seated. That means that I either don't have it on my person, or I toss it into my front pocket as I walk into the store, which is still bulky.

So now I'm looking for something a bit more streamlined, and something that is specifically designed to be carried in a front pocket.

Here is what I need it to hold:

    • Driver's License
    • Debit Card
    • LTCH
    • A couple bucks
Everything else (business cards, family pictures, membership cards, etc) I can keep in a secondary wallet that isn't carried on my person.

It must be slim, as flat as possible, and not grab my pocket as I take it in and out.

I've seen a few things that piqued my interest, but I was curious if any INGOers had experience with them, or others that might fit my criteria?

FWIW I had a Jimi wallet once upon a time. It is nice in ways, but you will probably have to buy another one in 6 months. I went through 3 Jimi wallets before giving up on them. The plastic cracks very easily. I am currently rocking a bi-fold from Saddleback Leather Co. It is bombproof and will probably outlast the owner. I keep my wallet very minimum, ID, debit card, LTCH, and some cash. Works great for me.

For anyone interested, I have a coupon code for 30% off everything at the Jimi website.

The code is HNY and should last for the first part of the new year.
