The OP doesn't give a flying **** about Iran or the Iranian people. This whole thread is intended to be an insult to people who like Reagan.

He laments what we as a nation have done, points fingers, lays blame, but the reality is we can't go back and change what happened in the past. So his only solution seems to be "let them kill us because we deserve it."

Also which Iranians are killing us? No one is saying we can change the past but we can not make the mistakes going forward. Problem is most people aren't willing to admit past mistakes.

Past mistakes can't be undone, nor have they been forgiven. Whoever started the fight, it's started, and the Iranians have been fighting it by proxy for quite some time. We've had a number of soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan fall to Iranian weapons. But I doubt you care about that.

I advocate not starting fights. But if you DO start a fight, finish it. Whether we or they started this fight, we should finish it. Half measures don't do anything but guarantee that we'll have to deal with it again in the future.

Because Regan said a Iranian victory is unacceptable, and knew Iraq had mustard gas, and gave Iraq intel, that this is "tantamount to an official American admission of complicity in some of the most gruesome chemical weapons attacks ever launched" is ABSURD.

This is nothing more than a hit piece on Reagan by the progressives. The timing of this "news" is questionable at the least. Apparently their goal is to make Obama look like a saint no matter what he does.

I advocate finishing what we start. Sorry if that goes over your head. And this whole thread really had nothing to do with Iran. Iran was just an excuse to insult Reagan and a big chunk of this country, and the implications made aren't even really all that accurate, which is of course why he phrased the title as a question and not a statement.

So I stand by my "OP doesn't give a flying **** about Iran or the Iranian people" comment. He's only using them to point his fingers at Reagan. I don't see very many fingers pointed at the USSR over their invasion of Afghanistan. Some people around here are very selective in their outrage - you'll find it's usually directed at America, and America ONLY.

I'm not a big fan of Reagan or the Republican party, as most people around here know. But I try to be fair.
