How is it not terrorism? It's the exact same, "join us, or we will kill you" to make people afraid due to their beliefs.
I hope you know that my returning to this isn't personal, BBI. I hold you in the highest regard.

If this does turn out to be less "join us" and more "I hate you," does that not remove it from "terrorism"? I disfavor the idea of "hate crimes," but wouldn't that be a more appropriate label for this, in that case?

Around Quebec? I'm all for it. I have a theory that this is where hipsterism originated.
Ooof. Many a fine sight to behold in Quebec. Even if you leave out les jolie femmes. :)

And I'd argue hipsterism is a product of Seattle, post-grunge.

    Silence?

What else should the leader of a foreign nation do?
well, if recents actions of previous administrations are to be followed I believe blaming white males and guns while shouting racist. If you can work in how the "victim" could be your child that will help as well.

Thoughts and prayers to those affected by these animals. IMO things that do these types of acts are not human, not people. Merely rabid animals that need put down.

Not disagreeing, but wondering what you think happened. :)

Motive matters. If the goal is to cause fear to get beliefs to change, or at least act like they did is different than the goal of thrill killing or grudges or what have you.

    Maybe that's the problem.

Sometimes you have to kill. Killing itself is not inherently sinful. God smoked a lot of dudes. Remember Egypt and the whole Moses thing? The flood, if your a literalist, killed pretty much everything and everyone.

Would you let your family and tribe be slaughtered? There is a time for mercy, and a time when mercy leads to destruction.

So, is it "terrorism" for the Coalition of the Willing to wage war against extremists to get them to change beliefs?

To change beliefs or to get them to stop killing other people regardless of what their beliefs are?
Doesn't that kinda depend on which side you're on?

I mean, the US has certainly killed Muslims that were not doing any harm to the US....

    That's Canada.
They have very strict gun laws.
You get INTERROGATED about guns at the border going in to Canada.

So, what are the odds that these guns came from Indiana, through Chicago.
Probably even originated at Don's Guns.

I am seriously amazed at how terrorists seem to have no problem getting guns when they need them.

That's a bit of the ole Texas Sharpshooter fallacy, but I get your point.

It could be: religious, political, family, someone get dissed at the hockey game, inter alia.

    Safeties on and sling 'em.

Distinction without a difference, too, for purposes of definitions.

"Terrorism" is a tricky concept to nail down.

In a different context, it's the difference between negligence and capitol murder- intent matters. Intent matters when defining terrorism.
