WTS: Bulk Shotshell Components and Equipment Package SPF

I am liquidating the collection of shotshell reloading equipment and components of my late father. He was a prodigious reloader, having shot clays, trap and skeet both competitively and as a hobby. Given the breadth of his operation I have elected to sell everything as one large lot. I lack the...

      2023 Deer Season

Shot this guy yesterday. Nothing spectacular, but a nice rack for a young deer. Pretty great season this year. Saw a lot of deer, only one hunt where I didn't see a deer, and had shooting opportunities on nearly all those occasions. Ended the season with two bucks and one doe in Michigan, and...

      2023 Deer Season

Saw 6 doe this morning. But it was a short sit with pending thanksgiving festivities.

Took ole Waylon for the Pheasant Hunt

DNR does put & take at several properties. Maybe statewide? We always went to the one at Pigeon River.

      2023 Deer Season

I've seen more deer this year than I ever have in the past. I primarily hunt Elkhart County and Cass County (MI).

      2023 Deer Season

.350 Legend. Winchester Deer Season XP 150 Grain out of a Shaw 18" barreled AR. Broadside, with a slight quarter away at about 75 yards. Hit a little farther forward than I would have liked. But that's on me and not the gun. Took out his left shoulder and got a piece of both lungs (one was...

      2023 Deer Season

Hunted Michigan's opening day. Saw 8 doe, a little fork horn and this guy. He graciously died right on the driveway of the property I was hunting.

      Best way to start hunting?

Start by reading through the portion of the DNR hunting guide relevant to deer hunting. That will explain the licensing and equipment side of things. You'll be limited to pistol caliber rifles, handgun, shotgun or muzzleloader on public ground. You'll find that public ground is crowded during...

      2023 Deer Season

Connected on a doe in Michigan this morning. Ran about 200 feet and piled up in the fence row. Saw at least five unique deer this morning, which is a lot for this field. But could be due to the corn having been partially picked yesterday.

      Plumbing question

I don't see how you you fix it effectively without removing. Probably easiest to cut each side re-dope and tighten the threaded fittings and then sweat in couplers. For future reference, sweat-in or pex valves are pretty easy to find online.

.350 Legend for Self / Home Defense?

I think a few people have touched on the possibility of feed issues. I've got a .350 that I hunt deer in Michigan with. Based on the deer I've shot with it, I think it would be a fine choice for home defense in terms of lethality. I would be somewhat concerned on the ammo you referenced feeding...

Classic Tractor Pics. Yours not yours, all things cool or not so cool.

1963 3020 I used to own: 1969 1020 I currently own (best pic I have on hand): Another of the 3020, a 750 I owned at one time and a 950 on loan from my dad to put in my driveway:

What EDC do you find useful for a new dad?

Mine's fairly minimal, but I through a onesie, couple diapers, a travel size wipe package and a couple of the single serving formula sticks in a magpul daka pouch that fit in the storage compartment in the carseat base. That covered most emergencies for me. Almost always have a the diaper bag...

      Truck Prices Then vs. Now…

My personal opinion is that the GMT800 (99ish-2006) generation of GM trucks was the best mix of comfort, technology, reliability and quality. I have owned 3 and still have 2 of them. I've owned the prior GMT400 generation as well as a more modern generation. The older stuff left some things to...
