      Safety and Security Summit

I wouldn't say that I walked away feeling I am better. I did make some good contacts and have an opportunity to discuss real solutions to real problems with people that can work together to make necessary changes. To my knowledge, this group has not been assembled before in this area, so it was...

      Safety and Security Summit

Typically, I couldn't agree more. The whole purpose of today's event, however, was to bridge that gap and bring all of these people together in order to begin the process of actually working together. Will it work? I have no idea. It has begun working other places around the country and we can...

      Safety and Security Summit

Not a waste of time at all. There were representatives of several different law enforcement agencies, private security companies, corporations, the Indiana Intelligence Fusion Center, and others discussing relevant solutions totoday's many security concerns. It was an excellent opportunity ti...

      Fatigue

I tell my students to stop once fatigue sets in and they can no longer practice properly. Exercise and consistent range time will increase the length of time you can train before becoming too fatigued to properly apply the fundamentals. Don't overdo it and begin to reinforce bad habits.

      Defensive Vehicle Operations 8/16

Our Defensive Vehicle Operations class is right around the corner. This class covers, as always, situational awareness but this time we focus on remaining alert while in your vehicle. Other skills taught will be: how to properly draw from concealment while seated in YOUR vehicle, alternative...

UNTHINKABLE: Concepts and Techniques for the Gravest Extreme

Excellent information here! I do not know the instructors, but what is stated in the write up here is spot on. I would encourage anyone who can to attend this training. You MUST train your mind first or your body will be useless to you under the intense high stress of a deadly force encounter.

Aftermarket Glock triggers. Yes or no?

Thank you all for your input. These are the same conversation points I find myself having more and more lately. As with many facets of my training, I like to provide as much information as possible and show both sides of an argument. What a person chooses to do in the end is a personal decision...

Aftermarket Glock triggers. Yes or no?

From time to time, I have students ask me about replacing the trigger mechanism in their Glock pistol with a 3.5 lb aftermarket trigger. My personal opinion is that, while the lighter trigger does allow for faster follow on shots, this is an unnecessary upgrade. I am not a fan of aftermarket...

Firearms training for women( possibly a child also)

I'm sorry I can't personally recommend anyone because I am not familiar with the area. I am glad to see you are looking out for your niece and seeing that she gets professional firearms training though. Good for you. And I love the hat, by the way!

2 night low light home defense class. Yes or no?

The range schedule will not be available for next year for several more months. That said, if there is enough interest generated to have the class, we will give several months notice so people have time to plan. I don't foresee this training costing over $300. That determination will be made...

2 night low light home defense class. Yes or no?

At our low light defensive handgun class Friday night, several students expressed interest in using their newly acquired low light skills in the shoot house. This led into an even more in depth conversation than we had previously had about home defense. Obviously we cannot safely or effectively...
