I picked up the DW PM9 at Christmas time. To date, best handgun purchase I have made. It is way more accurate than I am. Crisp trigger pull at 3.5# out the box. Now I'm having a hard time deciding between the Valor in 10mm or Guardian in 38 super.
The wife will be happy to hear this, at least happy for a year. I haven't been able to resist any of these releases. I reckon I'll be in line for the 6" when the time comes.
DO NOT dryfire a rimfire pistol. I have seen some beautiful, and pricey, pistols become completely inoperable because of this. Some modern pistols have addressed this, but most don't know which ones, treat them all the same.
I'm pretty sure the misnomer of damage from dry firing a center fire...
I also have the SIG. Fantastic in feel, and the only problem I have had with cheap ammo was with the ammo itself. The SIG has performed flawlessly with over 1000rds through it. Each trip to the range it is usually fired by 6-10 different people, at least 40rds per
First off, if you are a hunter, you'll probably already have a hunting rifle/shotgun. If you aren't, any firearm will get the job done once the SHTF.
IMHO, there is no order in which to acquire, so the numbers are for separation, not a ranking/priority.
1. Full size pistol
2. 2nd Full size (1...
I happen to know 2 individuals, both legally able and competent to posses firearms, that will happily pay $100 over, if it ensures there is no paper trail for the government to record the firearms they have accumulated, and put them on their "LIST" to raid first when the SHTF.
IMHO, Ruger marketing did OK on this one. I have had at least 5 people that I have taken to the range and introduced them to handguns that have said "I really like the feel of the .45, but the .22 is a lot more fun. Do they make a .22 with the feel of a .45?" 2 of them ended up getting the Ruger...
So, you require me to write down my personal info for you to keep? Red Flag
You require me to have a LTCH, or I'm not worthy of purchasing your firearm? Red Flag
PITA ahead.
Time for me to keep walking.
It's your choice, feel free to require it-for someone else.
Have you been Blythe's? The few times I have actually spoken with their staff, I have been really surprised how much time they invest, kowing i was unable to purchase at those times.
Here's my thoughts. Keep the ltch the same, background check, finger print, etc. for the four year license. Alter the lifetime with a class, similar to the ABATE for motorcycles, and use that lifetime license as your background check. As once was, show your license and check out. You would still...
My $.02- Prices will come back down, since a ban appears to be unobtainable. Unfortunately, manufacture costs will probably be higher as companies start to gear up to crank out more product. Meaning, that $600 AR will then cost $750 when everything settles. Remember when a SKS was $100? A craze...
I saw them at the Valpo show last year. Not only did they have what i had been searchig for (lot of time spent looking for certain pistol that no one seemed to carry any more), it was $50 less than the best price i had seen. Guy I dealt with was friendly, informative, and patient, while being...
My wife has small hands and after placing many guns in them, she found the Ruger SR9c. She fell in love instantly with its feel and reaffirmed it at the range. Though, to be fair, she does not EDC, only to and from the range.
These two shows have taught me some valuable lessons.
#1- NEVER, NEVER, NEVER sell your firearms to a shop! They have to really screw you over so they make a high enough mark-up
#2- Any mooron can appearantly be a gun smith. Watching these bumbling idiots makes me feel I can do any mod...
My thoughts, range time, range time, range time. Try to find a group(INGO meet and shoots) to attend. Arrange one on your own. Have her fire several different handguns.
My wife, after years of sporatic range time(another long story) also wanted a handgun.
Last year went with a small group to...
My daughter just turned 4, and I'm dying to take her to the range.
Unfortunately, she follows my direction like her mother(lol). I'm hoping to get her out next summer. Hopefully she'll have the attitude in check by then. I got my work cut out.
Sorry to hear of your loss.
The first thing to be done, IMHO, is to break it down and familiarize yourself with it. Then, break it down again. Clean it, and break it down again. Function test and range time. If you are already a "Glock Guy" odds are it will be short lived as your EDC, but...
