Does the scope rail that fits on an A-bolt rifle fit on an A-bolt shotgun? I see plenty of rails for A-bolt rifles but it doesn't specify if it will work for the shotgun.
Thanks for the info! I knew it was something like that but I wasn't sure. I also have a Remington 700 VTR in .223 and that has a 1:9 twist, and it didn't shoot 55 grain bullets very well at all. I switched to 62 grain bullets and it made a HUGE difference.
I'm going to be buying a new Remington 700 in the near future and I've came down to 2 options: The "mountain rifle SS" with a 1:10 twist, or the "XCR compact tactical" with a 1:12 twist. What kind of difference could I expect between the 2, in regards to barrel twist? I plan on using this gun...
That's what I'm trying to do to fix it. I already have talley high mounts on it, but I think I'm going to put a rail on it to get it higher yet, as the Talley mounts are far from being "high". The 50mm scope is maybe 1/8 inch off the barrel.
I have a browning x bolt in 300wsm. Awesome gun except when the brass hits the scope and falls back in the magazine well. I have a nikon monarch on this gun. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what have you done to fix it?
I recently saw a video on youtube where a guy had an AR with side sights, I assume mounted on a 45 degree angle picatinny rail. Is this a reliable BUS for a scoped AR? If anyone has had any experience shooting with with that setup I'd like to hear what you thought of them.
The Ferdinand Forest in Dubois CO. is a large woods, with a campsite and several lakes, primitive camping isn't actually allowed, but if you hike off far enough into the woods away from the camping area I'm sure you would be fine
I went to a local gun store today and checked out the Glock 21 and Sig P220. The sig felt MUCH better in my hands. The man behind the counter also showed me to a taurus 1911 AR and it was a very comfortable gun, priced well also.
I think I may have made my decision! :rockwoot:
Does anyone...
yea the rounds are very expensive, its definitely not a plinker... I just make sure its lined in before the season with a few shots. then she just sits in my safe... which kinda sucks because I'd love to shoot it all the time.
That is why I simply try and provide an objective overview of the two platforms, the potential owner should shoot both of them, before making an investment. They both have pro's and con's depending on which side of the fence you are on.
Where should I go to fire these guns? I dont know anyone...
its from a .308, and yea I still use my browning A-bolt when i'm hunting areas that don't allow a longer shot. I've used it along the edges of some small fields and it is awesome being able to shoot at a deer regardless of the range.
I was saying it is an amazing round in that it has such a devastating effect on deer on ranges much longer than that of a shotgun or any other legal rounds.
Has anyone shot the new .358 Hoosier wildcat round? It is a new round compliant with IN laws for deer hunting. It is an amazing round. I have a Marlin .243 rifle that was fitted with a new barrel for the .358 round and I used it this deer season, it shoots consistently at 250yds. I don't...
So how does the SA/DA in the Sig work as opposed to a Glock? I'm new to pistols so I have alot of questions.
I think the Sig sounds like a safer gun though. I wouldnt be Carrying with one in the chamber so the safety on the Glock may not be a problem.
