Saturday was a warning to the Republicans

Or...it could've been just a bug. I write software for a living and I've seen some of the biggest, most important pieces of software fail. Look at NASDAQ, it just had a bug not that long ago that brought down the whole trading system. 2003's massive blackout was caused by a bug in one of GE's...

The Smartest Kids in the World: And How They Got That Way

Tolerance is taught. I'm sorry you have problems with the gays and Muslims. I've met people from both groups and I thought they were just like anyone else. I've met plenty of "Sunday Christians" who stand around and chastise people or make snide remarks or otherwise shove their beliefs into...

The Smartest Kids in the World: And How They Got That Way

I agree we need to teach more of the sciences. I don't, however, think sex ed is a bad thing. Abstinence work on an individual level and if two consenting teens want to have sex, there's no force in the world that can stop it. This has been a common occurrence since before Shakespearean times...

Ex-Navy SEAL: Government orchestrating a SHTF scenario

The level of harassment from some people on this forum is outstanding. One thread and no less than 3 people have taken to trying to rip me. I guess it's nice to have fans -- no one gets autographs without paying for them first, though. Oh and fan club fees are due on the 15th of every month...

+2 to the IMPD officers @ the scene this morn.

Did she go to the hospital to get checked out? Some injuries (like those to the head and neck) may not make themselves apparent until later on (sometimes as much as a day later). It's not cheap, but I think it's always necessary to get checked out.

Anyone thought of becoming a sovereign citizen?

I don't pretend to understand crazy.

      Chicks on the right?

They're talking about a makeover, but the biggest image problem of conservatives (specifically the Republican party) is that it's all old people. These chicks look like they're in their mid to late 40s already (if not older) or is the "plastic surgery" makeover that they're going towards. You...

The Smartest Kids in the World: And How They Got That Way

The problem stems from a funding perspective. I see schools all of the time building onto their athletic facilities. Sure some of these are, partially, paid for by "booster clubs", but the janitors and staff have to be paid to maintain that crap. It also takes the focus off of education. I can't...

Anyone thought of becoming a sovereign citizen?

Good luck... No court, no administration, at any time has ever or will ever recognize sovereign citizens. If you feel that you're somehow exempt from all taxes and shouldn't have to pay any of them, then you're rejecting the very words in the Constitution that says otherwise. I think it's a...

      pledging loyalty to a man

This loyalty is no different than any other loyalty from any other administration. Loyalty itself is NOT the issue. I'm loyal to my friends, but it doesn't mean I'd let them make a mistake. Loyalty != poor ethics/morals. As far as the leak

      pledging loyalty to a man

I'm not...I used a commonly seen example. It may have to do with religion, but it's more indicative of my point and not a direction I'm trying to take a topic. It is intentional and you're wrong about him not being a politician. EVERYONE who is on the leadership side of politics IS a politician...

      pledging loyalty to a man

It's a speech. I hear Republicans all the time talking about God and Christianity and then they go home and screw random women (Democrats do it too, but then again they don't see to hold the Christian religion is so high of "esteem"). The point is that what one does and says on TV is hardly...

      pledging loyalty to a man

Have you ever had a friend? Were you not loyal to your friend? How about your wife/family? Are you loyal to her/them? Would you allow said person(s) to make a mistake without at least advising them that they're making a mistake? All of you talk about loyalty as if it's a bad thing. As if loyalty...

      pledging loyalty to a man

I'm not trying to be insulting when I say this, but are you stupid? No, follow me here. He was ELECTED. What part of the Democratic process do you not comprehend? How many dictators do you know of get elected? When will you shut the hell up about something that's just untrue? Do you feel a need...
