      New here!

Welcome to INGO. A very fine looking pair of firearms-my Norinco MAK 90 and SKS would like to welcome them to the site as well.

They are watching. ...perhaps INGO classifieds are next?

Totally unrelated to the thread-I find your pith helmet interesting. from what source was it obtained please?

FN 49 leaving two HUGE dents in expended brass

It is indeed chambered in 8mm and your response makes the most sense of anything I have read to this point. Thanks for the input and information.

FN 49 leaving two HUGE dents in expended brass

I was hoping to reload the PRVI Partisan using COTW data but those dents are never coming out. Guess I'll save reloading 8mm for the Yugo Mauser type rifle and just keep blasting surplus through the FN. Do you think it could be too strong of a follower spring jamming the rounds into the bottom...

FN 49 leaving two HUGE dents in expended brass

I do not know the rifle well enough to assess if it is feed related, extraction related, or possibly a combination of the two. Has any owner of this model of rifle ever experienced this and if Yes How did you rectify it? Any recommendations for a gunsmith-if that is what will be required. The...

Shannon Watts is bullying another business. Pulls out all the crazy.

So not a problem for me! I think their food sucks and now it appears so does their corporate mind set about law-abiding citizens who wish to exercise the right to carry a firearm in a free? country. The Constitution of the United States of America has been under attack for years; the formation...

Barrel shot out on C96 Mauser I found.

By the title it should be fairly obvious what will be coming next-does this firearm's forum community know anyone that can restore it to functioning, firing condition? It was chambered in 7.63 Mauser originally and that would be acceptable, as would 9mm. Mr. McHenry of JM Gunsmithing is...

Stories of found firearms in unexpected places.

I was recently contracted by a friend to tear down a garage that was dilapidated and in danger of falling down on its own on the property of a HUD repo he had purchased. His last words to me before pulling out of the driveway were "If you find anything of value you can keep it." My lucky day. I...

      what is this leather thing?

I'm inclined to agree with the antique rifle carrying case group on this one. Maybe something along the lines of a flintlock with the down swept butt stock?

First visit to USDS-will not be my last.

The very first thing upon entry into the store I was greeted by a large white dog-which is OK with me as I am a large, white dawg myself:): and after it sniffed the rifle case I was carrying for a couple of seconds it gave me the once over and went behind the counter. From there the humans took...

Gun Rack on the Wall - Yes or no?

I have two in a small rack on the bedroom wall. A .58 caliber Zouave rifle and an old bolt action J.C. Higgins .22. Not visible from the street when the curtains are open and not visible from the hallway that runs between the bedrooms. The only "security" on them are trigger locks and the fact...

What is Your Favorite Gun Movie?

Mad Max Beyond Thunder Dome when Max is "unloading" his arsenal on the weapon's check in desk-especially the old Mauser broomhandle and the sawed off double barrel shotgun. Even some edged weapons and a dog whistle!! LOL!

What Say You Bout The 7.62?

10 of the 15 I can see right now are the .30 caliber variety-the rest are .45 caliber or .22 Just need an Eddystone, a Jungle carbine, an M1 Garand, an 03A3, a Dragunov and when I hit the lottery or some unknown rich Uncle dies they will all be going into a big gun safe. Right now they are just...

      The Republican Party's Pot Dilemma

There is a huge crevasse between legalization and decriminalization. Alcohol is legal, but driving drunk is a crime. So legalizing cannabis sativa is not going to reduce over-crowded jails and prisons and it will not lend itself to taxation-the majority of pot that is grown in this country is...

      Oldest gun you own?

Not sure if that would be the Joseph Bourne and Son, London/Birmingham 577/450 Martini Henry or the Springfield Armory .45/70 Government-both 1880's manufacture and not wall hangers either ; these old thunder sticks make it to the range and throw BIG lead chunks down range! Good old single...

      Carry educate

You never get a second chance to make a first impression. What impression was the man with the accent, also shopping at the same store as the concerned observer, trying to make? None of us posting on this forum knows, unless you are him. Had the overly concerned observer approached me in the...
