I am looking for a good shooter Marlin 39 tds nothing fancy! It wont be a safe queen and as much as I would like to have a new one I cant do the price that they ask for them, but I still want one, if you have one or can call a buddy that has one (and they dont need an arm and a leg) let me know.

They are a tough rifle and giving it a good THUMP on the butt stock while pulling the charging handle should do the trick and if something breaks it was bound to break eventually right?
I have the chance to but a Savage 69 "riot gun" it is in great shape and cycles very smooth, but I am wondering what the ups and downs are on this critter and a ballpark price on what I should be willing to dish out? any help would be appreciated
